It's friends against friends in this episode. Wakiya and Hoji, as well as Valt and Rantaro, have been keeping their distance due to their upcoming battles.

During the competition, Valt and Rantaro's battle ends in three rounds. In the first round, Valt and Valkrye take it with a survivor finish. Rantaro and Roktavor come back in the second round to take a point from Valt for a over finish. The last round is all Valt and Valkyre when they burst Roktavor to gain two points and the win.

Wakiya's Wyvron manages a burst finish against Hoji's Horusood in the 1st round. Hoji's brothers and sister are in tears over his loss.

Of course, both Rantaro and Hoji would have preferred to win as evident by their behavior after the battles, but when it comes down to it, they will root for their friends to the end.
