Episode 49: Spin Emperors! Lui VS Shu!!

It's Shu against Lui in an epic battle with intensity only 2nd to Valt and Xhaka's battle. Shu starts out strong with a Louginas burst, which takes Lui by surprise.

In the second round, Lui ups his game sending Spriggen flying in a ride out finish. Valt manages to catch the Beyblade. It's then that Valt notices that Spriggen has a crack. He darts off to find Shu, who reassures him that everything will be ok. However, everything was not OK. The intensity of the next battle was too much and to everyone's shock (even Lui's) Spriggen splits into pieces. Shu loses not only the match, but his beloved beyblade partner.

In the finals, it will be Lui and Valt.

NOTE: This was an emotional episode. If you've been following along up until now, then you know that Shu (unlike Valt) keeps his emotions in check when he is battling. Even when he picks up his destroyed Spriggen and begins to walk away, he doesn't become overly emotional. It's only when Lui calls out to him that Shu loses his composure and yells in frustration. Later, when Shu is alone on the beach, he allows himself to cry. To see him wiping away his tears just before Valt comes up really caused a lump in my throat.
