 Chapter 3: Transformation

Hours later, the plane landed in Egypt. It was about 11 at night and everyone was really tired. Strangely enough, so was Tyson. They all walked out of the airport, into the cold, dark and windy Egyptian night. They took a BBA bus to their hotel, which was a huge, and very tall building with a flat roof. When they got there, they checked in once again at the entrance desk, and then headed upstairs. Since the hotel was so packed, they all had to share two large rooms. There were six beds exactly so they each got a bed. Terra’s was by the window next to Max’s, then it went Tyson, Kai, Rai and then Kenny.

“I’m so tired,” yawned Tyson, “I could sleep for days.”

“I’m sure you could sleep for longer than that, Tyson.” Joked Terra.

“His record’s a week.” Laughed Kenny.

Everyone started laughing at Tyson, who was already asleep.

“Wow!” said Terra, looking out the window, “You can see the pyramids from here.”

“Ooooh” said Kenny looking out. “We should all go and see them tomorrow, we have about a week before the tournament starts.”

“Good idea chief.” agreed Rai.

“I’m going to bed for now though.” Said Max. And with that the all lay down and went to sleep.

Terra woke up at around two in the morning. She rubbed her eyes and yawned. She took down her hair, grabbed her backpack, didn’t even put on her glasses and strode out the door. She was wearing the same thing that she wore yesterday, white shorts, and a blue t-shirt. The white shorts made her tanned skin look even more tanned than it really was.

She walked out of the hotel, and into the brightly lit streets of Egypt. There were many people awake, mostly tourists, and she could see many bladers, practicing, even at two in the morning.

Terra stood in the shadow of the hotel and then walked swiftly towards a deserted park on the other side of the street. Trees surrounded the park so nobody could really see in. Terra walked over to a bench and sat down. She looked around sadly and a tear rolled down her cheek. She remembered so well. She reached into her backpack and took out her book. She flipped through the thick, stained pages until she came to the last page. It was her favorite page, she must have read it a hundred times.

The next morning, at around ten, everybody was awake and eating breakfast.

“So, are we going to go and see the pyramids?” asked Kenny eagerly.

“I don’t remember wanting to go and see the pyramids.” Said Tyson sleepily.

“You we’re already asleep.” Said Max.

“So are we going?” asked Kenny impatiently.

“Sure,” yawned Terra who appeared to be really tired.

They all left the hotel and went to see the pyramids.

“Wow” exclaimed Kenny when they got there, “These pyramids have been around for centuries.”

“Is he always this educational?” whispered Terra to Max.

“You know it.” Answered Max dully.

“Ummm, Egyptian food is so good.” Said Tyson, he had stopped at an Egyptian restaurant and ordered take out.

(Saphra: ok I’m don’t really wanna describe the whole tour of Egypt so I’m gonna skip ahead to about 8 o clock in the evening.)

After an entire day of exploring Egypt, the bladebreakers were tired, so after a big argument over what they we’re doing tomorrow between Tyson and Rai, (Tyson wanted to go to a famous Egyptian buffet, and Rai to some famous beyblading park,) (it ended in the park) they all went to bed.

Terra woke up at the same time as the night before. She grabbed her backpack, took down her hair, once again, didn’t put on her glasses, and then changed into white jeans that were sort of tight and a dark blue Hawaiian t-shirt. She changed her normal shoes for black skater shoes and headed out the door.

This time, she wasn’t going to waste her time at a park she was going somewhere different.

She crossed the road once again and then walked along the other side of the street until she found another street. She turned down it and saw that it was empty. She looked around; it was exactly as before, silent, dark and deserted. She opened her backpack and started looking for something in it.

She heard footsteps coming behind her. She whirled around. There stood an obviously feminine figure. The only feature you could make out we’re her shinning yellow eyes, with blue flowing into the yellow.

“Sahara?” asked Terra in disbelief. Her voice was no longer squeaky and high pitched, it was clear and cold.

“Kiara?!?” said the other girl.

They hugged each other.

“What are you doing? This is way to dangerous!” said Sahara.

“Its pitch black out, I think I’m gonna be alright.” Said Terra.

“How did you get here?” asked Sahara.

“I took the plane, with this other team I joined. They don’t even know who I am.” Said Terra. “Where are Tyra and Alaia?” Demanded Terra suddenly.

“They couldn’t come, they we’re really busy practicing.” Answered Sahara, “There’s a tournament coming up. And we’re in it.”

“Good luck to the other teams.” Said Terra, “They’ll need it with you in the tournament. Oops, I’m in one of the other teams.”

“Oh yeah,” said Sahara, “Umm…hey, we want you to be on the team again.” She added slowly.

“I can’t though, I’m already on another team.” Said Terra.

“What if someone finds out who you are? They won’t know how to keep a secret.” Said Sahara.

“Yeah but if I’m with you guys everyone will recognize me.” Said Terra.

“Awe come on!!!” pleaded Sahara.

“I’ll see.” Said Terra. “But I gotta go cause the rest of my team might wake up sometime soon.”  She swung her backpack on her back and walked out.

“By Kiara.” Called Sahara. Kiara looked back and smiled.

As soon as Kiara was out of sight, Sahara turned around. And found her self face to face with…

****************************

Kai rolled over trying to get to sleep. Ever since he woke up for some reason at 1:00 in the morning, he couldn’t get back to sleep. He looked at the clock; it was now 1:30. He sat up, he obviously wasn’t going to get much more sleep, so he got up, put on his shoes and exited the hotel.

It was dark and cold outside. There we’re many people wandering the streets, most of them were bladers. Kai wandered down the streets until he found a deserted street. It was dark and cold and completely empty. He turned into it finding it kind of curious. Just then he heard footsteps. He quickly backed up against the wall into the shadows, not wanting to be seen. It was so dark he was almost invisible.

Someone entered the street from the opposite end. He could only tell that it was girl, but he couldn’t tell what she looked like. She walked closer to where he was. She looked around as if looking for someone, she then opened her backpack, looking for something in it.

“Wait…” he thought, looking at the backpack, it seemed really familiar, it was exactly like Terra’s. “But this isn’t Terra?” he thought confused. He looked more closely at her, she wasn’t wearing glasses, and her hair was down, and she wasn’t wearing the same clothes as usual. She looked completely different. But her eyes, her eyes looked identical to Terra’s, as did her tanned skin. “If this is Terra,” thought Kai, “then what the hell is she doing here?”

There were footsteps behind Terra. Kai looked at the person who just arrived.

“Kiara?” thought Kai to himself, “Who’s Kiara?”

Kai raised his eyebrows at this.

“Yeah but if I’m with you everyone will recognize me.” Said Terra.

“Awe, come on!” pleaded Sahara.

“I’ll see.” Said Terra. “But I gotta go cause the rest of my team might wake up sometime soon.”  She swung her backpack on her back and walked out.

“By Kiara.” Called Sahara. Terra looked back and smiled.

Kai came up behind Sahara silently. As soon as Terra was gone, Sahara turned around and found herself face to face with Kai.

(Saphra: you know when your really surprised, and you breath in really quickly and loudly? Well that’s what Sahara did.)

“Who was that?” asked Kai coldly.

“Who are you?” asked Sahara just as coldly. “And what kind of idiot doesn’t know who that is?” she said in a mean tone.

“Who was she?” repeated Kai impatiently.

“Well if you don’t know, then its better not to tell you.” Said Sahara. With that she walked past him and left the street.

“Well if you won’t tell me, then all the more reason to find out.” Thought Kai watching her leave.
