Beauty and the Beast

      Once upon a time, a 15 year old handsome but evil sorcerer named Li Sayoran who planned to take over the world with an entity named Sin was turned into an ugly beast who was cursed to never have a girl fall for him by the ever powerful Clow Reed, (who was his father.)  He would scare any girl in his path until, one faithful day, he saw a beautiful girl named Sakura Avalon with beautiful emerald eyes and auburn hair swimming in an enchanted pond.  It gave her the sight to see the inside spirit of people.  She was washing her sparkling hair when Li stepped on a twig.  Sakura jumped and yelled.

"Who's there?" Said Sakura, fear in her voice.

   Li was afraid to show his face to her so he turned to walk away but he tripped on his tail.  He fell out of the bushes and right in front of her.

"Uhhh...Hi.  My name is Sakura.  What's your name?"

   Li was so shocked that Sakura was actually talking to him, he spoke.

"My name is Li.  Go ahead; run away 'cause I'm so ugly!!!!"

  Sakura sweat dropped.

"You're not ugly!!!!!  What ever made you think a ridiculous thing...never mind.  Anyway you are kinda cute..."

   Li blushed and went to look at the pond.  He saw his horns and his ugly disfigurations, but Sakura didn't scream or run.  He smiled to himself.  Maybe she didn't mind that he was so ugly.

"Hi.  Nice to meet you. I know we only met, but do you want to hang out?"

"Ok, let's go for a walk."

   Li and Sakura walked all over the woods, talking and laughing, until it grew dark.  Sakura started to get scared.  She was afraid of the dark.

"Oh no, Li.  I'm afraid of the dark. My brother told me stories about demons and ghosts who grab unsuspecting victims into the dark into utter madness and terror."

   She was super close to Li and grabbed his arm.  Li felt his heart leap as she rested her head on his shoulder as they walked. 

 

She is so beautiful…thought Li. What am I thinking?

   They walked over to a Sakura tree and laid down on the mossy ground.  Sakura snuggled closer to Li and Li's heart leaped again.  Sakura started to shutter with chills.  Li put his arm around her to keep her warm.

"Thanks, Li..."

   Sakura put her face to his chest and fell asleep.  Li, feeling sleepy himself, put his head on Sakura's soft hair and held her tight, not wanting to let go.

It might be dumb, but I think I'm in love... thought Li and fell asleep.

   Clow Reed watched as the two slept under the Sakura tree.  He smiled as he saw Li actually smiling.

This is the first time I've seen him smile in forever.  I hope he and the clow mistress fall in love.  It might actually break my curse...

 

   Clow Reed sighed and decided to give Li one week to get Sakura to fall in love with him.  He cast a spell to give Li a normal appearance to Sakura and everyone else.  He gazed upon the will-be couple and disappeared to his other body of Eli.

   At the restaurant of Blaque J's Café, Eli told Sakura's friend Madison about what happened.

"OH!!!!  This is so exciting! They will make the most romantic couple just like us.  I can't wait to see them."  Madison squealed with delight.

"I know you can't wait, but there is an entity named Sin waiting to take the clow mistress.  He'll use her power and the Clow cards against us and probably destroy me..."

   Madison gasped and choked on her chocolate swirl latte.  She stared at Eli as if he were mad.

"Don't ever say something like that!!!  You know I love you enough to never let you die!!!"

   Madison's eyes filled with tears while Eli looked guilty.  They walked out of the coffee shop, not saying a word when they went back to each other's houses.

   Sakura awoke the next morning with her eyes closed.

Uhhh...I better feed Kero or he'll have a fit like last time...I'm gonna be late to meet Madison...

 

   Sakura opened her eyes and saw the sunlight pouring through the trees.  She looked up to see she was leaning on Li, who was sleeping like a baby.  She smiled and tried to get up but she woke Li.

"Ohhh!!!  You're still here.  You...uhhh...fell asleep so I....let you sleep..."  Li stammered as he blushed 5 shades of red.

   They got up and looked through the trees and noticed they were right outside Sakura's house.

"Hey, we're at my house.  Hey Li..."  Sakura examined him.

   Li's brown hair and eyes glistened in the sun and she felt her heart flutter and her face grow warm.  She put her back to him.

"If you have no where to go...you can stay with me in my house...I wouldn't mind to have some company..."

   Li was aghast.  Sakura was inviting him to stay with her!!!  He could hardly keep himself content.

"Sure.  That would be nice."

   They went inside Sakura's house and Li started to look around.  All of a sudden, a little lion with wings flew in front of Li.

"Hey Sakura, who's your new boyfriend?  He looks like a little wimp...wait a minute, Li!!!  I haven’t seen you since you were 8! I thought the curse on you was still in effect!  What happened?"

"Kero!!!  Shut your big fat mouth!!!"

   Li and Kero got occupied in a death glare contest.  Sakura stared at them and sweat dropped again.

"Can anyone tell me what is going on?  Li?  Kero?"

   Li looked at Sakura and sighed.  He couldn't lie to her.

"Sakura, I'm Clow Reed's son, and he cursed me for...never mind.  Any way, I'm supposed to be a beast but for some reason, nobody sees me as a beast.  I'm supposed to stay that way until someone loved me for who I am but I guess that was just a fluke."

   Sakura was afraid now.  If Li was really a beast, why was she hanging out with him?  But something about him made her feel all warm inside, and she didn't want to let it go.

"I don't mind...if you are cursed Li, but...um...how come you didn't tell me this before?"

"I was afraid you wouldn't want to be my friend because I was..."

   Sakura sighed.  Kero looked at both of them and spotted them giving each other cow-eyes.  He grinned.

"If you lovebirds want to keep staring at each other be my guest, but I'm getting hungry!"  Said Kero as he flew into the kitchen.

   Li snapped out of it and left Sakura with an embarrassed silence in her wake as he followed Kero to the kitchen.  Sakura sniffed and wanted to cry.  Li was so kind to her, and yet he was a beast?  What could she do?

"Hey, leave some food for me!  I'm hungry too!"  Yelled Sakura as she ran into the kitchen.

   At Blaque J's Café later in the day, Sakura introduced Li to Madison and Eli. 

"Hi Li.  Hmmm...you seem older than you look.  How old are you again?"

"I'm 15 years old."

"Really?  That's about Sakura's age.  I think you two look cute together."

   Madison smiled at them as Sakura and Li blushed.  At the booth, Sakura’s school rival, Leslie, gazed longingly at Li with her posse of snobs and a select group of cheer leaders.

"Who is that hunk sitting with Sakura!?!?  He is absolutely hot!"  Cried Leslie as she made her way over to the table.

"Hi, I'm Leslie.  I couldn't help but get in the way of your devilishly good looks and they pulled me right towards you."  Leslie purred as she batted her long eye lashes.  Li felt his face start to burn up, but he heard a voice say, you're in love with Sakura!  Don't forget your little cherry blossom!!!  Li glared at Leslie.  Sakura looked angry.

"Well Leslie, don't mean to disappoint you but I don't date good-for-nothing rats!"

   Li got up and ran out of the door in frustration.  Sakura worried, ran out the door after Li.  Leslie stared after them.

"Why doesn't Li fall for me like every other boy in Readington?  He can't ignore me!  I'm Leslie Desserai Diamond Starrex, the most popular girl in Readington High!"  Leslie said with a childish pout.

"Leslie, in case you haven't noticed, Li and Sakura are a cute couple.  Li loves Sakura and there is nothing you can do about it!"  Madison said with a sly smile.

   Sakura looked all over for Li and was about to give up when she saw him in a Sakura tree thinking.  Sakura climbed up the tree next to Li.

“Li, are you Ok?  Did Leslie make you feel bad?”

   Li looked at Sakura and blushed.  Sakura’s scrunchie fell off and her shoulder length hair fell all around her face and shined in the sunlight with her eyes.  Li had never seen anything so beautiful.  He suddenly felt weak and woozy.

“Li, you’re all flushed!!!  You must be sick!!!  We must get you home right now…LI!!”

   Li did feel sick so he fainted and almost fell of the tree branch.  Luckily, Sakura caught him.

   Later, Li woke up in Sakura’s bed with an ice patch on his head.  Li tried to get up but Madison pushed him back down.  He tried to yell for Sakura but Madison put her finger to his lips.

“Shhhh…Sakura is sleeping downstairs.  What happened?  Sakura almost cried her eyes out!!!  She was really worried…”

“I think it was just a fever but Madison can I tell you a secret? I never…liked anyone so much in my entire existence.  I think I love Sakura…”

   Li fell back on the pillow and fell asleep.  Madison smiled to herself with pride as she congratulated herself in her role as matchmaker.  She walked out of the room and started down the stairs to talk to Sakura.  Sakura had woken up and stared at Madison.

“Is it true that…Li…actually…loves me?”  Sakura said with her eyes wide and hopeful.

“Yup, and I think he is the perfect guy for you Sakura, but…”

“But…”

“I talked to Clow Reed (Eli), and Li is gonna stay normal-looking until Saturday at sunset, and then he will turn back into a beast.”

“But why was he cursed in the first place?  He’s so sweet and thoughtful and kind…”

“He was cursed because he was an evil sorcerer bent on taking over the world with Eli’s entity foe, Sin!!!”  Madison yelled.

   Sakura looked at Madison with a hurt face and wept on the couch.  Madison ran out of the door and shut the door behind her.

   Later that night, Li awoke to screams outside Sakura’s house.  He got up and ran downstairs to find that Sakura wasn’t in the living room and the front door was open.

“SAKURA!!!!!  Where are you!?!?”  Yelled Li as he ran outside.

   Li sensed Sakura’s aura and…a Clow card?!?!  Li grabbed his sword and ran toward the presence.  Sakura continued to scream at the top of her lungs.  Li ran faster.

“Sakura where are you?!?!   Tell me where you are!”

“Over here!  Help me!”

   Li ran toward Sakura’s voice and gasped.  Sakura was screaming for a good reason.  A giant blaque phoenix had Sakura in its giant claws, attempting to chomp her head off.  Li ran towards it and cried:

 "Force know my plight, release the light!"

   A huge lighting bolt hit the giant bird, and it let out a piercing shriek that shook the woods.   Sakura kicked the beast and reached for her Clow wand.

“Firey!!!”

   The Firey flew at the phoenix and threw a fire ball at it.  It caught the birds feathers on fire and it shrieked again.  It let go of Sakura and flew up into the sky.  Li ran to Sakura and helped her up.

“Thanks Li.  Man, how are we gonna defeat that thing?”

“I don’t know…look out!!!”

   The phoenix dived at Sakura.  Li pushed her out of the way and the mighty bird grazed Li’s shoulder.  Li groaned in pain and Sakura ran to him.

“Li, are you Ok?  Oh!”

   The evil phoenix flew towards Sakura again and started to spit shadows at her.  Sakura screamed and Li shielded her.  The shadows tore at his shirt and his back started to bleed.

“Owwwwwwww!!!!”

“Li!!!”

   Li turned around and attacked the giant bird with some wicked Kung-Fu.  He kicked the bird’s beak but it dodged him.  The bird slashed at Li and he fell down and hit his head.  Li got knocked out.

“Uhhh…”

   Sakura, filled with rage, ran toward the bird.

“Sword and Fly!!!”

   Sakura grew wings and her staff turned into a sword.  She flew up into the air and stabbed the bird and it collapsed.  Sakura raised up her wand.

  "Phoenix card, return with your power confined PHOENIX!!!"

   The phoenix turned into a card and Sakura grabbed it.  She ran over to Li and held him.  He groaned.

“Li please don’t die.  I’d kill myself if you died.  Please don’t die…”

    Sakura summoned the Float card and floated Li back to her house.  She bandaged him as best as she could and floated him to her bed.  Sakura stayed by his side all night, praying that he would be alright.  Li just stayed asleep.

“Li please don’t die.  I love you too much to let you die…”

   The next morning, Sakura woke to the smell of breakfast.  Li wasn’t in bed.  Sakura ran down the steps to find Li cooking.

“Finally! You woke up.”  Li said with a smile.  “Do you want sausage with your eggs?”

   Sakura sighed with relief.  God answered her prayers.

“Sure, but what about your injuries?  Doesn’t it hurt?”

“A little, but my wounds magically disappeared!  I guess…”

“Li…umm…thanks.”

“For what Sakura?”

“For risking your life to save me…”

   Sakura pushed herself and gave him a big hug, half sobbing.  Li, shocked, hugged her back.  They stayed that way for a good 5 minutes then realized they were being watched by a snickering Kero.

“Awwww!  How cute.  I’ve never seen such a more beautiful moment.”  Kero teased.  “Oh and Romeo, breakfast is burning.”

“Oops!”

   At night, Sakura went to Blaque J’s Café with Li, Madison, and Eli.   They were all chatting when Leslie came in with her new accessory, Brian Hiragizawa, the football quarterback and ultimate school hottie.

“Hey Sakura, have you seen my latest toy?  He is a lot cuter than your new pet!”

   Sakura blushed, not just with embarrassment, but also with jealousy.

Calm down.  She’s trying to make you jealous but Li is so much better than that!  Sakura thought.

   Li saw Leslie and Sakura stuck in a death glare contest and sweat dropped.  He knew they were fighting over him, and Leslie was using her new boy to make Sakura jealous.  And it was working.

“Uhh…Sakura…lets go to the carnival…”

   Li grabbed Sakura by the hand.  Sakura got warm as she felt his warmth in her hand.  They ran out of the coffee shop while Leslie left her mouth agape.  They ran straight to the carnival at Readington Square.

“Li, this is so cool!  Let’s go on some rides.”

“Hey Sakura, you know, I’ve never been to a carnival.”

“You’re kidding!”

   Sakura and Li ran to every ride and had a lot of fun.  They ate, laughed, and talked.  They believed the night couldn’t get more perfect.

“Hey!  What’s that?”

   Li was pointing to (what else) the ever popular Tunnel of Love.

“That’s the Tunnel of Love.  Want to try it out…..as friends?”

   Now Li remembers what it is!  He blushed at the thought being in there alone with Sakura, riding the swan boat, getting closer and closer, until…

   He gulped at that terrifying thought.

“Uhhh…sure.”

   They got in line and climbed inside the swan boat.  Sakura shivered as Li helped her in.  She was glad to be with him.  Most of all, they didn’t even talk to each other.  Li tried to start a conversation.

“So, Sakura, do you…have a boyfriend?”

   Li wished he hadn’t said that.

“No, mostly because all the boys I’ve ever dated weren’t the kind of guy that…made me feel…like…I’m on top of the world…”

“Does someone make you feel like that now?”

“Yes, but I’m afraid that my rival will take him away and that he doesn’t like me at all…”

“Why wouldn’t anyone like you?  You’re the most incredible person I’ve ever met.”

   Sakura looked at Li.  She never heard anyone say anything so nice to her.  She felt the nice feeling she got when she was around Li.

“Li?” Said Sakura as she moved closer to Li.

“Yeah?”  Said Li as he scooted closer to Sakura.

“I…”

   She never got to finish her sentence because Sin, who was watching from Oblivion, decided to flip over the boat, dunk Sakura under the water, and not let her surface.  Li surfaced but Sakura started to drown.  She thrashed her arms to come up but she choked on the dirty water.

“Li!!!”  Sakura tried to yell, but she choked on more water.

“Sakura!!!”  Yelled Li but Sakura wouldn’t stop thrashing her arms.

   Li took a deep breath and dived under the water.  He swam to Sakura and pulled her to air by her waist.  She gasped and saw Li’s scared face, but it got so dark…

“Sakura, do you love me?”

   Sakura was in a beautiful meadow and in Li’s arms.  They were dancing slowly.  Sakura wore a cherry-red dress with lots of ribbons in her hair while Li was wearing a suit with a mask.  Sakura jumped when she heard the question.

“Oh Li!!!  Of course, I do!!!  I was afraid you loved someone else so I…”

   Li leaned his head on her forehead and smiled his smile that always made Sakura’s heart jump.

“Don’t worry.  There is never a greater girl in the world greater than you!”

“Oh Li…”

   They got closer and closer and…

   Sakura woke up.  She woke up to find herself in her bedroom and Li was sleeping on the floor next to her bed asleep.  She was about to get up when she saw the Dream card grasped in his hand.

Was it all a dream or did he enter my mind with the Dream card? thought Sakura.

   She decided to cook some breakfast but Kero blocked her way out the door.

“Missy, you should get back in that bed and not panic!!!”  Kero hissed.

“Kero get out of the way!!!  And why would I panic?!?!”

“’Cause if you haven’t noticed, you’re disappearing into thin air!!!”

   Sakura looked down and almost fainted.  There was a huge hole where her waist used to be.  It certainly wasn’t there when she was at the carnival.

“Where’d my waist go?”

   In Sakura’s room, Li just woke up.  He held up the Dream card and smiled to himself.

I hope she got the message last night.  I wonder if she loves me too…thought Li.

“Ahhhhh!  Li, help me!”

   Li ran down the stairs and gasped.  Sakura’s body was disappearing and now, her head was only visible.

“Sakura, what’s happening?!?!”

“I don’t know!  Li!”  Sobbed Sakura as she grabbed Li with her invisible arms.  “Don’t let me disappear!!!”

   Li broke from her grasp and ran back to her room to grab a Clow card.  He ran back down to see only Sakura’s hair and eyes, filled with tears.  He summoned the Clow card.

“RETURN!  Return Sakura to her original state!!!”  Yelled Li.

   Sakura’s body returned right before his shocked eyes, but she wasn’t the same.  Her face was twisted up in an evil grin and her eyes were cold and staring.  Li, puzzled, walked up to Sakura but she punched him.

“HA, HA, HAH!!!  Guess you’re not as hard as you used to be, huh, Li?  Guess you got soft when you met your precious little cherry blossom!”  Said Sakura in a male voice.  The voice sounded awfully familiar…

“SIN!!!  What have you done to Sakura?!?!  Bring her back now or else!!!”  Li challenged.

“Or what?  As long as she’s under my control, you can’t touch me!!!”

   Li growled as he stared at Sakura.  There were no cards or spells he could use against him; Sin was too powerful.  Li was panicking.  How can he defeat Sin without hurting Sakura?

How can I get rid Sin without hurting Sakura?  I don’t want anything bad to happen to her…thought Li.

Think…think…think…

“Hello?????  I don’t have all day ya know.  If you won’t do nothing, I’ll go kill Clow Reed!  See ya dope!”

   Sakura flew out of the door with the Clow cards.  Li snapped out of his thinking, grabbed his sword, and ran out the door after her.  She called the Fly and flew in to town.

Grrr…what to do…what to do…what to do…

 

  While Li was running and thinking at the same time, he tripped and fell on his face.

“Argh!  How can I save Sakura when I’m so clumsy…huh?”

   Li got up and found 2 of the Clow cards: the Sleep and the Dream.  He had used them to calm Sakura and give her his message.  Li couldn’t help it; he started to get tears in his eyes.  2 of his tears fell on the cards and they started to glow.  Li gasped as they molded into 1 card: the Love.  As Li held up the card, he heard a voice:

Love can defeat anything.  With love, you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

 

Li, I love you and I know you’ll save me…

 

   Li smiled when he heard Sakura’s voice.  Sakura was counting on him.  He wasn’t gonna give up just yet…

“Don’t worry Sakura! I’m coming for you!”  Yelled Li as he ran toward town.

   In the Blaque J’s Café, Madison and Eli were talking to each other when everything exploded.  Eli shaded Madison from harm and Sakura (Sin) blasted through the wall.

“Eli, who is (cough), is it?  (Cough) Wait!  It’s…..Sakura!?!?”

“No! (Cough) Sakura is being possessed!!!  (Cough, cough)  It’s Sin!”

   Sin grinned as he watched the 2 struggle for breath.  All the while, Sakura was struggling to get control over her body. 

Uhhh…no use, Sin is just too powerful.  I wish I could just see Li 1 more time, and tell him…

 

   Sakura wept.  I love him.

“So, Clow Reed,” Said Sin as he had him in a tight bind.  “it seems to be the end of the line for you.  After I kill you, how ‘bout I kill your little girlfriend?”

   Sin looked over at Madison, who was bound to a pillar and gagged.

“Or vice-versa?  I know it will be horrible for you.  Hey!  Now that I put it that way, it will be a lot more fun!!!”

   Sin made his way over to Madison.   Madison squirmed and wriggled but nothing could break her out from the tight embrace of cords.  Sin made his way over to her when Li pushed Sin (Sakura) out of his path toward Madison.

“Sin, let Sakura go and take…um…me!!!”  Yelled Li as he charged at Sin.

“Why should I when I have your precious cherry blossom?  Anyway I can kill you with her own magic…”

“Li!!!”  Cried Sakura as she had control over her body for a moment.  “Kill me!!! It’s the only way…”

   Sin got control again and flew toward Li with the Windy, Watery, and Firey behind him.  Li dodged and summoned the Love card.  A beautiful angel holding a heart flew towards Sin, and he glowed for a moment before a giant shadow was expelled out of Sakura.  Sakura fell to the ground and Li caught her.  Sakura’s eyes were dark and dim, her mouth lopsided; she was dead.  Li started to weep over her body when a light appeared behind him, calling his name.

Li…Li…Don’t be a baby, I’m right behind you!!!

   Li turned around to see Sakura’s smiling face replacing the angel’s face and saw her floating in the air.  Sakura glowed like gold as she glided over to her body.  She laid herself in her body and opened her green eyes.

“Sakura,”  Said Li gently as he helped her up.  “are you Ok?”

   Sakura gently touched Li’s hair as she leaned toward him.  Sakura gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and smiled.

“Does that answer your question?”

   Li smiled back and they unbound Eli and Madison.  Madison and Eli looked at Sakura and Li, who were gazing into each other’s eyes, and they gave each other high-fives.

   At the park near the lake, Li and Sakura were sitting on a bench staring at the stars.

“Sakura, do you know the feeling of love?”

“Sure.  It’s the warm fuzzy feeling you get when you’re around that special person who makes you want to be around that person day and night and never want to let them go.”  Sakura felt tears come to eyes as she told this all to Li.

“Sakura…”  Said Li when he saw Sakura’s eyes shine.  “Are you Ok?”

“I know what love is, but I’m afraid of it…”

“Why?”

“Because the person you love might not love you back.  And your heart breaks…”

   Li, who hadn’t considered this, grew nervous.  He was gonna tell her right this second, but now he wasn’t so confident anymore.  Maybe he should just walk away-

“SAKURA I LOVE YOU!!!”

   Sakura did a double take.  She had a vague idea that Li loved her, but he really loved her?  From that moment, her feeling of love turned into a feeling of shock and awkwardness; it was just too much.  Li blushed beet red, hopped off the bench, and ran off into the night.

   Li wasn’t there at Sakura’s house the next morning.  Sakura, Kero, Eli, and Madison looked all over town for him, but he seemed to be ignoring Sakura’s desperate cries.  That night, Sakura laid on the floor weeping softly.  She imagined Li’s face as she stared at the moon and started to remember her dream…

Sakura, do you love me?

 

Oh Li!!!  Of course, I do…

   Sakura sat straight up as she remembered what she said in her dream.  Li had used the Dream on her and given her his message.  How could she have been so blind?  She did love Li and she had to tell him tomorrow before sunset!!!  Sakura went back into her bed and closed her eyes.

Goodnight Li.  I love you…thought Sakura as she fell asleep.

   Li was watching her from her bedroom window.  He smiled as he thought of what she was thinking.  As he was caught in a spell, Sakura started crying and mumbling.

“Li…Li…I’m so sorry…where are you …I love you…”

   Li quietly walked over to her bed and wiped her tears.   He got out the Love card and it separated back into the Sleep and the Dream.  He held the Dream and everything started to fade…

   He was inside Sakura’s mind.  Everything was dark and cold, and Sakura was nowhere in sight.

“Sakura, where are you?  It’s me, Li!!!”

“Li…”  Said Sakura as she walked out of the darkness.  “Why did you run away?”

“I…”

   Li was expelled out of Sakura’s mind, and he jumped out of the window.  Sakura sat up and saw the Dream card by her head.  Sakura smiled and held the Dream to her heart.   The next day, dreaded Saturday, Sakura woke up early to find Li.  When she ran to the park that afternoon, she almost gave up hope.

“Oh, what’s the use?  I’ll never find him…”

   She spoke too soon; Li sitting in the same Sakura tree that they sat in when Li fainted.  Li was staring at the vast lake, watching the sun go down.  He was whispering something to himself as Sakura climbed up.  He ignored her as she sat by him.

“You hate me don’t you?”

“Of course I don’t.  I could never hate you.”

“So how come you won’t even look at me?  It really hurts when you don’t even smile at me…”

“Want to go for a walk?”

“Sure…”

   They both jumped off the tree and walked toward the woods where Sakura and Li first met.  They didn’t say anything all the while and Li didn’t even know that horns were poking out of his brown hair.  They walked all the way to the enchanted pond and Li took a good look at his handsome self for the last time.

“Well, you might as well run away since I’m gonna turn into a beast any second.”  Said Li in a sad voice.

   Sakura walked over to him and looked at his face.  His eyes had turned red with black irises, but they still had their warm glow.  Sakura and Li gazed into each others eyes.

“I love you enough not to care what you look like Li.  You should know that.”  Said Sakura as she put her arms around his neck.  Li stayed quiet; the sun was almost down, and he had a few minutes left.

“I love you too, my little cherry blossom.”

“I love you more, my little beast.”  Said Sakura playfully.

   They drew close and kissed each other, long and hard.  In that very second, the sun went down while Sakura and Li were in their embrace.  When Sakura opened her eyes, Li was there, brown eyes and hair with the face she always loved.  She started to tear with happiness but Li stopped her with another kiss.  Sakura felt the warmth and didn’t want it to stop.  While they were making out, they didn’t notice they were being watched.  Kero, Madison, and Eli were all watching and sighing with pride in the ever popular game of matchmaker.

   A couple of years later,  a boy and a girl stand there watching the sunset holding hands, while the wind blows the Sakura blossoms and make them dance.

“It’s not over yet…”
