Extremely intelligent but bored high-school student who happens to find the mysterious notebook, Death Note. Although skeptical at first, he decides to put it to the test. When the notebook proves to be for real, Light devises a plan to eliminate those "he believes" are rotten in an effort to cleanse the world. He thinks very highly of himself and wants the world to know that it is he who is passing righteous judgment. Light intends to become the God of the new world.
