Misa Amane enters the Death Note Series with a vengeance in episode 11. In an effort to get the real Kira to notice her, she cold-heartedly kills T.V. personalities, innocent police officers, and anyone else that got in the way....all the while proclaiming to be "Kira." She, in fact, is a beautiful model and actress. Misa is also young and naive, which Light uses to his advantage.

As you know by now, Misa has a Death Note of her own. It was given to her by the shinigami, Rem. However, the notebook initially belonged to, Jealousy, an acquaintance of Rem. Jealousy would watch Misa from the Shinigami World and eventually fell in love with her. He knew her life would be cut short by an attacker, but couldn't stand by and let that happen. Jealousy sacrificed his own life by writing the attacker's name in his death note. He was reduced to dust....only his death note left behind. This notebook now belonged to Misa along with the shinigami eyes, and Rem ventured to Earth to inform the pretty girl.

Misa is totally in love with Light. Seems she witnessed the death of her parents. Although police had caught the criminals, the case was tied up in litigation, and it appeared they would be set free. When Kira killed them, Misa became a devoted fan. Using her shinigami eyes, Misa discovered that Light is Kira. Soon after, she met him in person and confessed that it was love at first sight. Now Light is using her to help in his quest for total world control, but Misa doesn't seem to mind as long as she can be with him. ((-_-)' I pity the fool.)
