The episode begins with Yamaki and the Hypnos gang pounding away at
their computers working on an "ARC" to bring the children back from the
digital world.
Meanwhile, in the digital world, Zhuqiaomon attempts to destroy the Tamers with
his sonic zephyr attack. Rika quickly goes into action card swiping matrix
digivolution to Taomon. Taomon performs a talisman spell to put up a protective
dome-like shield over the Tamers and their digimon. Soon Taomon becomes weary
from Zhuqiaomon's continued attacks. Suddenly, Guilmon and Terriermon break
through the shield and begin their own attack. It's no match for Zhuqiaomon who
quickly overpowers them sending the digimon to the watery depths below. It looks
like the end for Guilmon and Terriermon when Zhuqiaomon fires his blazing helix,
but...wait! A ligthning whip out of nowhere has thwarted this assault! Azulongmon,
one of the four sovereign, has appeared instructing Zhuqiaomon to cease his
attack on the children. Zhuqiaomon refuses, insisting humans endanger their future,
as he begins to battle with Azulongmon. When Zhuqiaomon sends a potentially deadly
blazing helix towards Guilmon, Takato breaks through the shield falling towards
his digimon partner. BIOMERGE DIGIVOLUTION! Gallantmon begins to heroically
battle Zhuqiaomon until Azulongmon ends the fight.
In a remote canyon-like part of the digital world Ryo and Cyberdramon are
searching for Baihumon when they arouse the sleeping Ebonwumon. Ebonwumon
is a beast-type digimon and another one of the four sovereigns. He seems
peaceful enough. Suddenly there is an explosion from the chasms below.
Ryo feels it may be too dangerous for them to investigate and tries to think
of another plan of action.
With the help of Guardromon Kazu, Kenta, and Jeri meet up with their companions
just as Azulongmon begins
to explain the digital world's mysterious past. Seems the digital world's physical
structure is 6 layers deep. In the past it was inhabited by their ancestors and the
digiknomes. However, the true enemy destroyed many of them until it suddenly
disappeared, and they were able to live in peace and harmony. Then the sovereign
created their own level in the digital world. With the help of the catalyst, they
were able to digivolve beyond what they once were, but in doing so they woke up
the dormant "true enemy". To protect their catalyst it was changed into the form
of a digimon to hide it. That catalyst is Calumon! Now that the catalyst is hidden,
the sovereign must somehow convince their true enemy that they weren't digivolving
to the point where it was necessary for them to be eliminated.
In the real world
a catatonic Mr. Mizuno (Shibumi) is communicating with a high-tech computer system through
brain frequencies. His shadowy figure appears before the Tamers in the digital world.
He explains that the digital world's true enemy is called D-Reaper.
It seems that when the network was first designed, a program
was written to control the growth of artificial intelligence. The D-Reaper deleted
any AI programs that exceeded their original parameters, however, it wasn't given
the strength to delete the sovereigns......unless.....it mutated....
Just what
kind of destruction does this mutation cause????? Keep watching!
Here are some of my favorite quotes:
We'll never beat him if we just keep running away! (Henry)
Well, we'll never beat him if we're destroyed either! (Takato)
Surrender or be destroyed! (Zhuqiaomon)
I don't suppose there's a third choice! (Terriermon)
Kazu, what's that big blue cloud? (Kenta)
Obviously...some kind of...blue cloud. (Kazu)
If the only way to make you believe is to defeat you, then so be it! (Takato)
Oh, why did you have to wake me Mr. Wakey-Rouser-Man? (Ebonwumon)
Ummm, guys, let's not make the ultra-powerful digimon angry by interrupting
him...OK? (Takato)
I feel so powerless. (Ryo)
Better to feel powerless than to feel dead. (Ebonwumon)
