Inuyasha: The Final Days
By: Battlebotfan32
Disclaimer: Everyone, this is the final chapter to my fic. The most saddest thing for me was that I finished it. Oh wells, and Oh hey, I don't own Inuyasha, if I did, 1: I wouldn't be writing this fic. 2: I would never end the series until I was dead.

Final Chapter: Goodbye
The next day, Kagome and the others went back to
the village with Inuyasha on top of Kirara. Kagome put Inuyasha cross-armed with
the Tetsusiaga in his arms to make him look more peaceful.
As they got there, villager looked at them when
they passed by as They finally got to Lady Kaede's hut. After the whole village
found out about Inuyasha, Kagome asked Lady Kaede to have a proper burial for
Inuyasha. Lady Kaede agreed. They buried Inuyasha on top of a hill close to the
village and gave him a tombstone that said:
Here lies Inuyasha,
The greatest hero of all time.
"They won't remember who he is,"
Kagome said, "because he was half demon." Silent tears went down her face as she
prayed to him. All the other villagers prayed to him too.
Kagome stood in front of the hut of Miroku's,
Sango's, and Kohaku's house. Shippo decided to stay with Lady Kaede. In her hand
was the completed Shikon Jewel that was completed after they defeated Naraku.
Also, Miroku proposed to Sango that he loved her and she gladly accepted. Kagome
entered into the hut as she saw Sango and Miroku sitting down, holding hands.
They looked at Kagome when she came in.
"Hello Kagome," said Sango.
"Sango, Miroku?" Kagome asked. "Can you guys do
me favor?"
"What is it, Lady Kagome?" asked Miroku.
"Can you guys guard the Shikon Jewel?"
Both Sango and Miroku looked at her, a bit
surprised.
"But Kagome, the Shikon Jewel belongs to you,"
said Sango, walking up to her and breaking away from Miroku.
"I know. But, you and Miroku know more about the
Shikon Jewel than I do. And it doesn't belong in my time, not yet. So, I, Kagome
Higurashi, hand down the Shikon no Tama to you." Kagome handed the Jewel to
Sango and put it in her hand. "Will you guard this with your life?"
Sango and Miroku glanced at each other,
uncertain. But Miroku slowly smiled and nodded. Sango turned back towards
Kagome, smiling.
"We will guard it with all our lives." she said,
proudly.
Kagome traveled back to the well with everything
with her. As she got to it she looked back to see all the villagers and the
others behind her waving and saying goodbye. She waved goodbye to them all as
she threw her bike into well before jumping through the well.
It has been two weeks since Inuyasha's death and
Kagome was still sulking. She was finally catching up in her studies that her
teachers were saying the she just might pass. But her friends were trying to
catch on, on why she was still sad.
"Maybe she's sick again."
"Naw, not for two weeks."
"Maybe a mysterious boyfriend she never told us
about dumped her."
"Or maybe he died."
Kagome looked up at her girls as they looked at
her, seeing that She shot her head up.
"Did you?"
"Don't be silly," she said, "I don't have a
mysterious boyfriend."
One morning, Kagome woke up suddenly. She looked
at her alarm Clock that said 7:30. She looked out the window and saw the sun
rising.
She had the urge to take a walk. So, she headed
out the door, Leaving a note behind, and headed out walking in the streets of
Tokyo.
She walked around with her head hung low, and
trying to avoid walking into someone.
When she turned a corner she accidentally walked
into somebody. "I'm so sorry." she said as she looked at the man. She then
gasped. The man was wearing a red cap, a red t-shirt, blue jeans, and white
running shoes. He also had white hair and yellow eyes.
"Inuyasha!?" she gasped.
The man looked at her strangely. "Who? I'm sorry,
but my name is Mike Lambardo. I think you’re mistaken me for someone else." he
said.
"Oh," she walked past him with her head down as
silent tears went down her face.
The man watched her walk off as he started to
scratch his head. "Arh, this stupid cap is so aggravating," he said as he pulled
his cap off. He started to scratch his head as he revealed two dog ears on top
of his head. He quickly looked around and put his cap back on. He watched Kagome
walk down the street as he smiled.
"Kagome," Inuyasha said, "nothing will stop me
from protecting you, no matter what. Not even death." He turned around, put his
hands in his pockets, and walked off.
