Demons True Nature

Continuing from last episode, InuYasha and Miroku are imprisoned within a deadly cocoon.

The bandits are abusing their captive prey. Gatenmaru is devouring the life from the poor women villagers while InuYasha and Miroku watch helplessly. Unfortunately, Miroku's protective barrier is weakening, and the poison inside InuYasha is spreading. The dog demon's eyes begin to glow with rage.

Off in the forest, Jaken laments. Sesshomaru has left them to confront his brother. He wants to see for himself if what Bokuseno said was true....The pure demon blood of his father is too strong for a half demon. The demon blood will attack the soul....he will not be able to recognize himself.

Back at the village, the young boy's grandfather attempts to return the tetsusaiga to InuYasha, but he is stopped and beaten. Sango and Kagome arrive just in time to save the old man. The girls fight, but there are just too many bandits! Gatenmaru eyes Kagome for his next meal. That's when it happens! InuYasha transforms into pure demon and breaks through the cocoon-like prison. First he makes mince meat out of the shape-shifting Gatenmaru, then he unmercifully slaughters the bandits one by one. The others look on in horror. Kagome grabs the tetsusaiga in an effort to return it to InuYasha, but he doesn't even recognize her.

Sesshomaru arrives just before InuYasha is about to dispose of the remaining bandits (who are begging for their lives). Sesshomaru wants to test his brother's strength. With the use of the toukajin (Sesshomaru's sword), it isn't long before he strikes InuYasha down. Kagome runs to the boy's aid. Sesshomaru tells her to give him the tetsusaiga so the dog boy can return to normal. She questions why he didn't kill InuYasha? Sesshomaru walks away stating that someday he will kill InuYasha, but it's not worth it if he's not himself.

Later that day, InuYasha desperately tries to wash the blood from himself. The remaining villagers recant in fear when he approaches. The young boy is the only one who is not afraid....he is grateful InuYasha saved his Grandfather.

Evening falls, Sango and Miroku agree that they will stand by InuYasha no matter what. Kagome sits with InuYasha reassuringly, but the boy fears what could happen next time he becomes a full demon. Is it possible he may hurt the ones he cares about the most? We'll just have to wait and see.....
