INUYASHA EPISODES 56-60 BRIEF SUMMARIESTemptress in the MistComing Fateful Night in Togenkyo (1)Coming Fateful Night in Togenkyo (2)Coming Beautiful Sister Apprentices
Kagome arrives back in the Feudal Era bearing bags of snacks for all, but where is Sango? Miroku thinks she had more to do than just repair her hiraikotsu (flying bone or bone boomerang). InuYasha chirps in, "Maybe she just wanted to stay away from the pervert monk." At her village, Sango is repairing her boomerang under the watchful eye of Kirara. When the repairs are complete, Sango places flowers on the graves of family and friends. As Sango prays, there is movement from behind a building, which causes Kirara to transform and attack. It's two young sisters, Serina and Suzuna. It had been three days since leaving their village to find this one, and they haven't eaten or drank anything in all that time. Sango feeds the hungry girls and listens to their tale. They were looking for the demon exterminator and want desperately to become apprentices. Sango refuses, but the two girls beg explaining their strong desire to learn. Finally, Sango concedes hoping the others will wait for her. Sango begins to train the girls with simple measures of deterring youkai. That evening, while Sango is sleeping, Serina and Suzuna break into the barn that carries the youkai raw materials. "With these we can become strong," they thought, but Sango catches them in the act of stealing. The girls attack using very familiar moves....that's when they explain: Their village was originally a Shinobi (Ninja) Village until one fateful day when a huge youkai from the castle was defeated. The youkai's friends retaliated and attacked the village killing everyone. When the girls came out from hiding, they found their dying father, who's last words they interpreted to mean, "become strong". After explaining, the girls escape in a puff of smoke. Sango surveys what they have stolen realizing that they took youkai parts that haven't lost their youkai...meaning they will call other youkai. Sango and Kirara go after them knowing that they are in grave danger. Sango catches up to the girls just before they are attacked by hundreds of demons. She recalls one of the last conversations she had with her father....he wanted her to live happily. That must have been what Serina and Suzuna's father wanted. All of the girls fight the onslaught of demons to the best of their abilities. One huge, ugly demon grabs Suzuna, but she is able to cut her way free. Just as the youkai seem to have the upper hand, reinforcements arrive. InuYasha, Miroku, and even Kagome join in the fight. After all of the youkai are destroyed, Sango and the others have a bittersweet reunion...Serina and Suzuna silently slip away. Kagome, InuYasha and Shippo tell Sango how worried Miroku was about her. Sango is flattered until that pervert Monk grabs her behind. (Poor Miroku....his face is sure to have a permanent hand imprint one day.) Fifty-Year Curse of the Dark Priestess
An elderly woman is chanting a curse before a fire. Her curse is effecting the health of a man not far away. She is approached by Kagura asking if she is Black Priestess Tsubaki? The Black Priestess is not willing to work with a demon until hearing that it has to do with Kikyo, whom she had fought 50 years ago over the Shikon no Tama. Scene changes to Kagome panicking at her school. While walking home, she realized that she's forgotten everything . Her friends believe she is distraught because of the ex-boyfriend..."the two-timing, rough, selfish, guy that dumped her." (^_~). However, Kagome explains her behavior while they have lunch at Wacdonalds (<---ha, ha). In the Feudal Era, Kagura is flying the Black Priestess to Naraku's castle. Once there, Naraku tells the Priestess Tsubaki that if she lends him her powers to fight Kikyo, he will give her the Shikon jewel. When she hears this, the elderly woman transforms into a pretty young woman. It seems, to retain her youth, the miko had sold her soul to a demon (kinda like what people do today with plastic surgeons). Kagome is running late due to all of her packing....looks like the books must remain behind again. When she finally arrives in the Feudal Era, Kagome is bitten by the Black Miko's snake just as she is stepping out of the well. InuYasha goes after it, but finds only paper. Priestess Tsubaki, however, has gotten the sample of Kagome's blood....that was her intention. Later that evening, Lady Kaede examines the papers. She says they are Shikigami, a ceremonial God encrypted onto a sheet. Kagome quickly grabs her jar of shards, and she is shocked to see that they have changed to a black color. Suddenly, the small jar shatters and the shards are absorbed into Kagome's body. The young girls slumps over in pain. Kaede knows this is the work of the Black Miko. Miroku and Sango set off to stop this treacherous woman while Inuyasha stays behind with Kagome. The Black Miko's curse is taking control of Kagome's body even though the young girl is trying to resist. She is instructed to "kill Inuyasha." When Lady Kaede and Shippo go out to get more water, Kagome's body can resist no longer. The young girl reluctantly shoots her arrows at Inuyasha. Even in her cursive state, Kagome begs Inuyasha to escape (her body is lost, but her heart cannot be taken) . Meanwhile Miroku and Sango are unable to break through Naraku's barrier. A distance away, Kikyo approaches the barrier as well. She recognizes the Jakyi....this is something she has fought before. Back at the hut, Inuyasha faces Kagome and her arrows. What should he do? Leave Kagome to succumb to the curse? Naraku relishes the thought of Inuyasha's pain. Is this the end of Kagome (and the very lucrative anime....ha, ha....no way)? Can Miroku and Sango break through Naraku's barrier or will Kikyo save Kagome? You don't want to miss the next exciting episode. |
