INUYASHA EPISODES 111-115 SUMMARIESThe Big Clash! Banryuu vs. the Wind ScarComing The Barrier of Hijiri Island
A bright orb of light crashes into a sacred island. An older man gathers up a holy staff (entrusted to his ancestors) and boards a boat to check on the temple of the High Priest. His young son, Shintarou, begs to go with him, but the man says no. The boy is needed here should something go wrong. Not far off, Inuyasha searches for Naruku's new scent....that of flowers and water. At the same time Sango and Kirara have left to check out Mt. Hakurei. Unfortunately, no one is making any progress and the barrier around Mt. Hakurei seems to be getting stronger. They resolve to keep checking the surrounding lakes. Back at the village, Shintarou is insisting that he be loaned a boat. It's been weeks and his father has not returned. Inuyasha and the others arrive just in time to hear them speak of a holy island. They ask the boy to explain: In the center of the lakes, there's a holy island where ordinary men cannot set foot. For generations, only men of Shintarou's household have been permitted to cross the sacred grounds and care for the Great Priest Hakushin. He was a powerful priest who lived here over one hundred years ago. He became a living Buddha and was enshrined in a small temple on the island. (Living Buddha is when a monk refuses all food and enters Nirvana even as his physical body withers away.) Inuyasha and the others agree to accompany Shintarou to the island. The villagers are hesitant to loan them a boat for fear of being cursed, but Inuyasha uses his usual diplomacy to convince them. Once on board, navigation becomes difficult as the air is very misty. Shintarou tells them of a temple of purification just at the base of Mt. Hakurei. He also warns Inuyasha to watch for rocks, but the warning came too late as the boat hits one. One way or another, everyone makes it to the island. They find that its barrier isn't quite as strong as Mt. Hakurei....not only that, but it is covered in beautiful lavender flowers. These are the flowers that gave Naraku's puppet its smell! Shintarou tells everyone that the flowers were not there before and goes running to the temple. Suddenly, he trips over something. The young boy sees the skeletal remains of his father and falls to his knees. Miroku and Inuyasha agree....it must have been Naraku's minions that were responsible. They gaze at the temple when all at once Kagome senses the presence of shikon shards. Who should make a grand appearance....none other than Bankotsu! Kagome warns Inuyasha of the shards embedded in Bankotsu's banryuu, but that just pisses the young hanyou off. The two engage in a battle of vengeance. Inuyasha attempts a Kaze no Kizu, but it won't work! Oh no....this sacred island is purifying the Tetsusaiga's demon energy. Miroku says there's got to something holy nearby generating the barrier. "Of course, the temple!" Shintarou runs to the temple. He sees the staff his father had, but the Great Priest is missing. While Bankotsu and Inuyasha continue to fight, Miroku tries to determine who or what is generating the barrier. Seeing the staff, Miroku explains to Shintarou that his father died trying to protect the Great Priest from Naraku. The boy felt better knowing that it was an honorable death. Outside, Inuyasha is having difficulty in his fight with Bankotsu. Miroku asks him to hold on a little longer. He uses Shippo's demon energy along with his talismans and lo and behold, the source of the barrier is found. It's a piece of the Great Priest's alter equipment (dokko). Miroku is unable to break through its barrier on his own so he and Shintarou work together. Each are using their staff to penetrate the barrier surrounding the dokko. Thanks to their strength and determination the barrier is broken. The flowers disappear, and Inuyasha's tetsusaiga regains its power. "What does this mean?" Kagome wonders, "Could the Great Priest be lending his powers to Naraku?" Bankotsu just gloats at Inuyasha.....without that barrier he, too, is filled with renewed energy. "With the barrier broken, it's time to end this now," he says. Can Inuyasha prevail? Keep watching....you'll find out!! Sacred Vajara and the Mystery of the Living BuddhaNot completed yet. Koga's Solitary Battle
Miroku and Sango venture to Mt. Hakurei to investigate on their own. Inuyasha and Kagome watch and hope that they will return unharmed. In the area around Mt. Hakurei, Koga looks for a way to get past the strong barrier. Ginta and Hakkaku plead with him to give it up, but the young wolf demon is determined to find the band of seven. Little does he know that just inside the barrier Renkotsu and Ginkotsu are watching. "Blow his legs clean off," Renkotsu tells his machine-like partner. Luckily, the wolf demons are able to evade the attack. Not far off Inuyasha and Kagome wait impatiently while Sango and Miroku are surveying the mountain. They have yet to find anything. Poor Miroku....seems any evil thought makes him ill. There will be no butt grabbing today! Returning to Koga, we find Renkotsu waging a battle against him. Uh Oh....trouble. Koga's legs were injured in the first attack. He knows he must end this quickly so the plan is to remove their shikon shards just as he did with Kyoukotsu. Unfortunately, Renkotsu and Ginkotsu resolve to fight dirty by remaining behind the barrier. This makes it difficult for Koga. When Renkotsu begins to use his steel wires attack, Koga gets an idea. But what?....Koga is just standing there as Ginkotsu unleashes a multitude of bombs. When the smoke clears, Koga is no where to be found. "Was he blown to bits?" Renkotsu wonders. He orders Ginkotsu to move out of the barrier. Once outside, Koga emerges behind them blocking their way back. He lunges at Renkotsu hoping to grab the shards in his neck but only wounding the evil man's left shoulder. Ginkotsu becomes enraged to see his partner injured and begins firing at Koga. Luckily, the crafty Koga has crammed a piece of armor in the barrel. Not destroyed yet, Ginkotsu prepares all of his weaponry and blasts. The quick Koga is able to avoid the attack and comes charging down from above at the steel menace. Ginkotsu detaches himself in a strong effort to kill Koga, but the wolf demon gets him in a firm hold and sends him crashing to the ground. With Ginkotsu down....Koga looks at Renkotsu. In a final effort to save his friend, Ginkotsu self destructs causing a powerful explosion. A distance away, Inuyasha senses a disaster has occurred. He grabs Kagome and Shippo and heads towards it. Meanwhile, Miroku is trying his best to get past the barrier's power over him. And in another area, Jankotsu and Suikotsu search for Inuyasha's older brother. Sesshomaru's keen senses picks up impending danger and is able to thwart Jankotsu's sword. (Quick scenes but important.) Returning to the explosion, we find a severely injured Renkotsu. Seems he gained (the now deceased) Ginkotsu's shard which protected him from the blast. He collapses within the barrier. Inuyasha arrives shortly after to find Ginta and Hakkaku sobbing over their fallen comrade. Due to his injured legs Koga could not avoid the explosion. He was unconscious and covered in debris. "Koga's a demon, morons! Like THIS would kill him." Inuyasha yells tossing away the debris. Sure enough...everyone calling his name awakens Koga, and he holds Kagome's hand saying he let one get away. "Hey wimpy wolf! Get this straight: coming back to life is no excuse for grabbing her....." Inuyasha says, but he is interrupted when Kagome points out that Koga is asleep and so are his two friends. Inuyasha turns away and vows to find the rest of the band of seven, as well as Naraku and make them pay! What will happen next???? You'll find out if you keep watching!
