The Demon Linked With the Netherworld

An evening campsite and everyone is sleeping except for Inuyasha. He senses something and wanders off in that direction. Flying above him, he catches site of Kikyo's shikigami (Kochou and Asuka). They tell him Kikyo is waiting. When Inuyasha gets to Kikyo, he finds her still quite weak. however, she tells him that the barrier in front of the bird's nest has dropped. She tells him if his group intends to go from this world through the boundary of the netherworld....do not take Kagome. She says Naraku took down the barrier as a trap. Naraku's aim is Kagome's eyes. After telling Inuyasha what she wanted, a weak Kikyo goes to leave. Inuyasha begs her not to, because she will fall prey to Naraku. She doesn't listen but gives the half demon an arrow to give to Kagome. She says it will be up to Kagome to use it wisely.

When dawn arrives, a gloomy sky is full of Naraku's demons. Kagome waits for Inuyasha to return. When Inuyasha does returns, he apologizes to Kagome and much to everyone's surprise, tells her he just returned from meeting Kikyo. He hands Kagome the arrow. He tells Kagome he only went to make sure Kikyo was safe....seems Kagome doesn't quite believe that, but there's no time to argue....the sky is getting worse.

On a mountain's ledge, Sesshomaru picks up the faint scent of Naraku. His group goes off to where it leads them.

Inuyasha and the others head for Naraku's scent as well. Inuyasha recalls Kikyo's words and vows to protect Kagome. "I believe in you," she replies.

At the birds nest, Naraku faces Abi. The bird princess says her mother is doing much better with all the blood and wants to give him a greeting. As the nest begins to crumble, Naraku smirks, "It will open at last. The path to the boundary between this world and the next."

Tekkei, the huge angry bird demon and accomplice to the birds that reside in hell, emerges from the rubble. "We have no more use for you," she says. "Using us was a big mistake....die!" The angry bird shoots a blast of fire from her mouth at Naraku. Too bad he easily dodged it. His multiple deadly limbs take aim, but Abi fights him off vigorously. When her flames did not finish him off, Tekkei swallows Naraku....barrier and all.

Myoga meets up with a hurrying Inuyasha group. He warns them of Tekkei and her ferociousness. A very short time later they arrive at the nest where Tekkai blasts them with her fire. They, too, dodge it. Abi asks if Inuyasha came to die as well, but the young hanyou just wants to know where Naraku is. Tekkei smirks and says she ate him....he's dead. "And now let me devour you all too!" Tekkei says. The youkai birds and Abi attack them. Suddenly Tekkei's head is split open by Naraku's tentacles. Abi is furious he destroyed her mother. He no longer has use for Abi and destroys her as well.

Inuyasha and the others watch stunned. Naraku gloats at them saying they should be happy he destroyed the bird demons. Now the Boundary to the netherworld is open.
