INUYASHA EPISODES 16-20 BRIEF SUMMARIES

Mystical Hand of the Amorous Monk, Miroku

Kagome and Shippo have noticed that InuYasha has a lot on his mind lately....most likely thoughts of Kikyo. Not so far away, an handsome, but cunning, Monk overhears two men discuss the illness of a beautiful girl at a local manor. Quite possibly the work of a demon. The Monk heads to the manor. He convinces the (not very pretty after all) girl's father to allow him to eliminate the cause of his daughter's sickness.

That evening an evil weasel youkai is easily destroyed by the Monk, who we now know is Miroku. The demon possessed a Shikon Shard, which Miroku quickly gathered up...but that's not all he took. The Lord of the manor, although happy his daughter was cured, was shocked to find that all of his possessions were taken.

Night falls and the nicely built (hee, hee...just thought I'd add that) Miroku is relaxing in a hot springs bath when he sees Kagome bathing on the other side. Even though her appearance interests him, it's the jewel shard she wears that HE wants. Miroku sees InuYasha is close by and comes up with a plan. When day breaks, Tanuki (Miroku's shape-shifting dog-like friend) attacks InuYasha and Shippo....this gives Miroku the opportunity to grab the jewel shards and Kagome's bike. InuYasha is about to give a deadly blow to Tanuki when Miroku removes the cloth and beads from his right hand unleashing an incredibly powerful wind tunnel. Once Tanuki is safe, Miroku escapes.

InuYasha tracks Miroku at a town close by, and he's ready for a fight. It's tetsusaiga against Miroku's staff. After Miroku's staff is knocked from his hands, he runs through the street warning the townspeople to take cover. When far enough away, Miroku unveils his hand again. The Monk is sucking up everything in his path. Trusting in the goodness within Miroku's heart, as well as a desire to save InuYasha, Kagome allows herself to be sucked towards the wind tunnel. Miroku sees her coming and quickly covers his hand. Kagome runs into the young Monk knocking him unconscious.

Later, InuYasha and Kagome learn that Miroku is looking for the shards in order to find a evil demon called Naraku. The Monk explained how Naraku placed the air void curse on his grandfather 50 years ago. A curse that is passed down from generation to generation. He further told how Naraku used his shape-shifting ability in a effort to steal the Shikon no Tama from a Priestess who guarded it. InuYasha realizes that it was Naraku who had tricked Kikyo and himself. Miroku agrees to join InuYasha to find the Shikon shards and eventually destroy Naraku. Of course, this is after Kagome refuses to have his baby....such a kawaii lecher!
