Magatsuhi's Evil Will

The initial opening is a brief recap of the events that took place in the last episode.

The sun has just set when two ogre-like demon appear before Sesshomaru. "Word has spread," they say, "Looks like you've lost your weapon." Sesshomaru easily defeats them, but according to Jaken, this has been happening a lot lately.

Elsewhere, Inuyasha meets with Kaide to inform her of Kikyo's fate. "My sister has finally been freed from her prolonged agony." Kaide says after hearing the news. What now they wonder? Looks like Kagome will have to take over for her. "About that," Inuyasha says, explaining what Hitomiko said about Kagome's sealed powers. Lady Kaide tells Inuyasha of the spirits within the Shikon Jewel. The good spirit, Naohi, and an evil spirit, Magatsuhi. "I believe that the evil will of the Shikon Jewel sealed that power out of fear." Kaide says.

In a darkened cave miles away, Naraku speaks to the evil spirit in the Shikon Jewel. He lends it his body so the sacred light can be eliminated. The evil spirit passes through Naraku's body creating a human, tentacle-like creature. It heads off to retrieve that last shard.

A dark cloud blankets the sky as the evil spirit appears before Sesshomaru's group. "Are you one of Naraku's incarnations?" the dog demon asks." It doesn't answer...just attempts to get the shard from Kohaku. Sesshomaru won't allow it, and plunges his arm into the spirit. "Something's wrong," Kohaku notices, "Lord Sesshomaru's arm should have pierced his body, but it looks like it's being swallowed." Sesshomaru backs away quickly just before the evil spirit has a chance to attack, however, his arm is damaged by a very potent venom. Kohaku attempts to help thinking this is one of Naraku's incarnations, but he ends up getting his shard defiled when captured!

The Inuyasha group show up just as Sesshomaru's arm is damaged even more! While Inuyasha helps his brother, Kagome begins to purify Kohaku's shard. Unfortunately, when she turns to look at the evil spirit, it renders her unconscious. Sesshomaru instructs Sango to take Kohaku and leave for they are getting in his way. He then changes into dog demon form and rips the head off the evil spirit. "Destroy as much as you want," it giggles, "I'm only borrowing this body." Inuyasha asks who he is and he answers, Magatsuhi, the evil will within the Shikon Jewel.The battle continues. Magatsuhi has made it impossible for Inuyasha to use the Meido Zangetsuha without harming the others. Sesshomaru wants desperately to defeat Magatsuhi by his own hand as a matter of pride. As he gets close, he draws the Tenseiga and strikes through the souls of demons that formed Magatsuhi. (Tenseiga's blade will work against anything that isn't of this world.) Suddenly, one of Magatsuhi sharp appendages pierces Sesshomaru's body, and he appears to get swallowed up. Rin cries fearing her beloved Sesshomaru is dead. Inuyasha frantically works to free his brother, but he ends up getting caught as well.

Moments later, a bright green light emits from the appendage cocoon, and Sesshomaru breaks free. Totosai arrives just as it is happening. In the green light, Sesshomaru's left arm re-appears holding a sword. "Behold your own weapon. One that isn't inherited from your father. Bakusaiga." The Bakusaiga is very powerful, and it's effects disintegrate what it touches. Magatsuhi escapes.

Totosai explains that Sesshomaru always had this sword within him, but his obsession with their father's heirloom prevented him from getting it. Now he has his left arm back and a very powerful sword as well!
