INUYASHA THE FINAL ACT

Completing the Shikon no Tama

Continuing from the last episode, Magatsuhi's tentacles grab Kohaku before he falls to his death. Sango is able to cut them and retrieve her brother with the help of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, who just arrived to join the fray. Sesshomaru uses his Bakusaiga and appears to destroy Magatsuhi. Knowing that this can't be over yet, Sango tells Sesshomaru how Miroku had absorbed some of Magatsuhi's evil poison, and Rin was affected as well. Sesshomaru heads straight for the village, but before the others can leave, Naraku appears and grabs Kagome.

Naraku tells Kohaku he will release Kagome only when he is given the last shard. Kagome protests while noticing that she still has the ability to seek out the Shikon Jewel. "The jewel is in his right shoulder," Kagome tells Inuyasha. Inuyasha and Sango attack together, but were unable to get to the Jewel. Naraku had Moryomaru's armored shell protecting it.

"Your shard will save Kagome's life," Naraku says to Kohaku. Pondering his next move, Kohaku notices one of Kagome's spiritual arrows. It's shinning and so is his shard. He has a plan. Even with everyone telling him to run, Kohaku allows himself to be captured. "Naraku, I'll defeat you! I will not die!" he says, plunging the spiritual arrow into the armored area protecting the jewel.

"Curse you!" Naraku says knowing that he'll be purified if the boy continues to touch him. He releases the boy. Before Naraku can disappear, Inuyasha is able to use "Adamant Barrage" to save Kagome. His body shattered again, Naraku escapes into the clouds.

Meanwhile, Miroku is feeling much better. It was as if something was lifted from his body. Outside Kaede's, Rin is not so lucky. Her body possessed, she flies off on a demon before Jaken can do anything about it.

As soon as Sesshomaru gets to the village, Lady Kaede informs him of what happened to the child. Jaken feared he would be blamed, but Sesshomaru sped off quickly...more concerned with finding Rin.

Returning to the others, with Naraku gone, it would seem that things would be peaceful for a while, but in a flash, a small bit of Naraku's demon flesh strikes through Kohaku's neck taking the last shard. The boy's life force is gone, and he crumbles to the ground. Sango tearfully cradles her younger brother.

Naraku gazes at the completed Shikon Jewel and takes satisfaction in knowing that it is completely defiled (Kikyo's light could no longer be found.). He taunts Inuyasha saying that he is weak and unable to save either Kikyo or Kohaku.

The light of dawn slowly appears. Inuyasha is beating his fist on the ground in frustration when, suddenly, both Kagome and Sango notice a light emanating from Kohaku. To everyone's surprise, the boy awakens. Seems Kikyo decided it was more important to save Kohaku's life than to destroy Naraku. Kagome looks up at the sky realizing it's all up to them now.
