Naraku - Lure of Light

With the defeat of Magatsuhi (as seen in the previous episode), Kagome can feel her powers return. There is strong shaking within Naraku, however, and she tumbles from the web supporting her. Inuyasha catches her and transforms back to normal thanks to Kagome's regained powers of purification. Not far off, tentacles separate Kohaku, Jaken and Shippo

Naraku notices there is some light coming from the Shikon Jewel and realizes that Magatsuhi has been defeated. He decides to use the light to his advantage. With the help of Byakuya, they create several illusions of light that lure both Sango and Miroku into separate traps. Thinking each light will lead to Naraku, Miroku and Sango head towards them. In one area, Miroku finds who he thinks is the real Naraku and is ready to use his wind tunnel for the last time! Luckily, Inuyasha and Kagome arrive just in time to stop him. Kagome senses the light of the actual Naraku and fires an arrow.

Not far off, Sango approaches another illusion of Naraku. This one is holding the real Rin. He taunts her by asking if she is willing to sacrifice Rin to save the good Monk? Her anger towards Naraku and love for Miroku wells up inside her. At the same time that Kagome's arrow destroys part of Naraku, Sango tosses the hiraikotsu. Unbeknownst to Sango, Kohaku was nearby to catch Rin and save her life. "You tried to kill Rin along with the illusion of Naraku I showed you," Byakuya says knowing Sesshomaru is nearby to hear. "You were willing to let Rin die if it meant saving the monk's life, right?"

Byakuya disappears leaving Sesshomaru staring at Sango, and Kohaku trying to justify what had happened. "I don't care if you tear me apart," Sango says with determination, "but I want you to wait until Naraku's been defeated and the wind tunnel's curse on the good monk is lifted." Suddenly, another light appears before them. Sesshomaru feels the real Naraku is in that direction. "Hurry!" he tells them, "you will, also, find the monk there."

Elsewhere, Inuyasha, Kagome and Miroku have already found the badly disfigured Naraku. In an attempt to send him and the Shikon Jewel to the Underworld, Inuyasha uses his Meido Zangetsuha, but Naraku shakes, and it misses.

The scene switches to Shippo, who is drawing closer to the light himself. The young fox demon barely escapes Inuyasha's Meido Zangetsuha. Hearing something, he hides. It's Byakuya, and he's putting a sword with no blade into the Meido Zangetsuha's demonic energy. It creates a black sword, but Byakuya knows it can only be used once. Shippo is surprised when Byakuya doesn't attempt to capture him. Byakuya didn't bother, because he knows the end is near.

Returning to Inuyasha and the others, Kagome is ready to fire off another arrow when Naraku emits dangerous miasma. The approaching Sesshomaru group are surrounded by the poisonous gas as well. Sango gives her protective mask to Rin. "I'm sorry, Rin." she says and flies off ahead of everyone.

"This won't be enough to take us out!" Inuyasha yells, "You'd better get ready, Naraku!"
