INUYASHA THE FINAL ACT

The End of Moryomaru

The demon tree, Yomeiju, would eat both demons and humans until it was sealed by an esteemed Priestess (probably Kikyo) many years ago. Lately, that tree has sprouted....is it reviving? Kagome notices a jewel shard within the tree. "That means Naraku...." Inuyasha realizes and attempts to cut it down using his wind scar. Unfortunately, Naraku appears preventing the attack with his barrier. Before anything can be done, Naraku absorbs the tree. What is he up to?

In a mountainous area a distance away, Koga stops suddenly when he sees Kikyo and Kohaku walking across a ledge above him. Kikyo senses him as well. Suddenly, Moryomaru emerges from the rock causing a avalanche, which sends Kikyo plunging into the depths below. Koga approaches the fallen Kikyo not expecting to find her alive. Much to his surprise, Kikyo is very much alive and aiming an arrow straight at him. She tells him she has no intention of taking his life and only wants the shards in his legs. "Your shards are being controlled by another will," she tells him. Koga is not about to hand over his shards no matter what Kikyo says and quickly takes off after Moryomaru.

Returning to Inuyasha and friends; they are in pursuit of Naraku, who is emitting a potent miasma killing anything that comes in contact with it. Soon Moryomaru and Naraku come face-to-face in the skies above them. Moryomaru attacks shattering Naraku's body into pieces. Naraku knew this betrayal was coming. He regenerates and the two begin a battle of the strongest. At one point, Moryomaru absorbs Naraku and thinks he has won. The shards of the two of them begin to merge. The only remaining shards are those of Koga and Kohaku, and Kagome senses that they are both nearby!

It's only moments before Koga makes his appearance. He uses his Goraishi, but it doesn't do any damage. Inuyasha joins Koga, and the two work together to defeat Moryomaru. Inuyasha catches their opponent off guard and attacks with his dragon-scaled tetsusaiga. Unfortunately, he is unable to see the demon vortices. Soon Moryomaru has both Koga and Inuyasha in his grasp!

Meanwhile, Kagome and Sango find Kikyo. Sango cannot accept the fact that Kohaku is ready to give up his shard and die. Kagome begs Kikyo to stay put. She tells her how much Inuyasha has been working to get stronger so he can defeat Naraku himself so there will be less lives lost. Kagome goes off on Kirara determined to set her friends free.

Returning to Inuyasha, he has told Koga to use the Goraishi on him so the energy of the dragon-scaled tetsusaiga and the Goraishi are joined. The impact forces the infant child to release a great amount of miasma. Koga passes out still entangled within Moryomaru, while Inuyasha is thrown free by one of Kagome's arrows. Moryomaru takes off with Inuyasha and Kagome in pursuit.

While chasing Moryomaru, Kagome notices that he hasn't absorbed the Shikon jewel. Even the infant child is wondering what is going on...until he hears Naraku's voice! He's not dead and using the power of the demon tree, Yomeiju, he breaks through the infant's barrier. The infant refuses to be taken by Naraku and attempts to dislodge himself from Moryomaru. With Inuyasha and Kagome watching, Moryomaru is destroyed by Naraku. At just about the same time, Koga awakes. Kagome uses one of her arrows trying to free the wolf boy, but it appears to have missed. Luckily, with a combination of the ancestral spirits protecting Koga, along with the power of Kagome's arrow, he has enough strength to break free and loosen the infant from Naraku's grasp.

Just as Koga escapes, Miroku unleashes his wind tunnel. Everyone yells for him to stop, because the toxins from the miasma will kill him. He won't listen as he is determined to help Sango. The wind tunnel is able to draw in the Fuyoheki before Inuyasha stops the good monk. "As foolish as ever, Inuyasha. If you hadn't stopped his wind tunnel, he would have sucked in my heart. You shall regret missing this perfect opportunity to destroy me." Naraku taunts before disappearing.

On the ground, Miroku has collapsed. Kikyo says she will attempt to purify him, but a body that's taken in so much miasma most likely cannot be fully restored. "We're counting on you, Kikyo," Inuyasha says with hope in his voice.
