Lightning Incarnate: Noble & Mysterious Female Pirate Shura

Kenshin awakes from his poison induced slumber just before the pirate ship docks. Once on land Ginjo and the other pirates want to rip Kenshin apart, but Shura doesn't allow it. She sends the grumbling men away and faces Kenshin herself. Shura felt humiliated because Kenshin didn't kill her when he had the chance. Since Shura spared Ms. Kaoru's life, Kenshin was willing to let Shura take his, but the feisty pirate was unable to kill him (that day anyway).

Evening falls. Sarujiro was left to guard Kenshin. A friendly Kenshin learns that Sarujiro is very fond of Ms. Shura. Not far away, Ms. Shura encounters Ginjo on the beach. Ginjo makes a pass at her, and she slugs him. Afterwards one of the men lead a disgruntled Ginjo to a cave. He is shown that opium was stored in the fake bottom of one of the crates they had taken from Senbonya's ship. They discovered the elder man is importing opium from foreign merchants and selling it in Japan. Ginjo plans to use this information to his advantage. The large pirate meets with a frightened Senbonya that same evening.,

Meanwhile Sano is trying his best to reassure Ms. Kaoru when Yahiko enters the dojo all excited. He tells them he saw one of the pirates meeting with Senbonya. They decide to follow the pirates and stowaway on their ship. Sano and the others see the pirates loading crates filled with foreign guns and gunpowder. Seems the evil men want to take over the small island and follow Ginjo, which means Shura must be eliminated. Suddenly, Ms. Kaoru sees a rat a lets out a small shrill. Even though Sano cups his hand over her mouth, he fears the pirates know of their presence.

On the island, Ms. Shura finds that Sarujiro has fallen asleep, but Kenshin did not attempt to escape. The pretty pirate asks Kenshin what Ms. Kaoru is like that a man like him would be willing to give his life for her. She becomes defensive when he says you two are quite alike. Then she explains her past: This town use to be a very poor fishing town. If her father hadn't stepped forward, the children would have starved to death. Seems her men were all the children raised by her father. They grew to be great fighters.

Back at the boat, Sano smells gun powder just before the boat explodes. Ms. Shura hears the explosion and goes running towards it. Kenshin demands she stay by his side. He doesn't trust the other members. When Shura comes face to face with the mutinous men, Kenshin breaks lose and battles them. He instructs Shura to check on Sarujiro, but before she can, Gekki arrives armed with a rifle. He begins to open fire. A bullet strikes Ms. Shura in the upper leg. Kenshin grabs the injured women and jumps off a cliff into a raging waterfall.

Burn, Island of Terror

Continuing from our last episode, Kenshin had grabbed Shura and leapt off the cliff into a raging waterfall. Ginjo orders the men to find the bodies to ensure they are dead. Seeing this, Sarujiro slips away to look on his own.

Meanwhile an explosion aboard the pirate ship has sent Sano, Yahiko, and Miss Kaoru flying. The pirates destroyed their own ship just to kill them. Luckily, their little scheme does not work as all of our heroes surface from the water unharmed.

Kenshin has found his way to the caverns carrying an unconscious Shura. He knows he must remove the bullet lodged in her leg or it may become infected. Sarujiro appears and leads them to a place of refuge. Kenshin carefully operates on Shura's leg. Afterwards Kenshin asks if Sarujiro has anything to keep the female pirate warm. The boy pulls out a beautiful crimson colored cloth. When the two return, they arrive just in time to stop Shura from committing suicide. She had become distraught due to her inability to carry on her father's wishes. Kenshin convinces her that suicide is not what her father would have wanted, and leaves so she may get some rest. Seeing the cloth held by Sarujiro, Shura remembers the day her father gave it to her saying she was to wear it on her wedding day.

Not far off, greed and fear has pushed Senbonya's decision to join forces with Ginjo. Time to celebrate their new leader of the Kairyu. The men drink and party.

Sarujiro was checking out the storage room when Iwazo was thrown inside. They had forced him to take opium. The boy takes him to Miss Shura. The three find Kenshin on the other side of a wooden bridge checking out a smaller vessel to use to escape the island. The female pirate tells Kenshin that they must take Iwazo to a doctor and sends the two males over the bridge to Kenshin. Once Sarujiro and Iwazo are across, Miss Shura uses Kenshin's sword to destroy the wooden bridge. Against Kenshin's wishes, she returns to the village to settle the score with Ginjo.

In the village a short time later, Shura interrupts the festivities challenging Ginjo to a fight. He gladly accepts hoping to destroy her and throw her body into the flames. His overindulgence in Saki mixed with her speed and agility eventually lead to his downfall, but a cunning trick on his part sends a knife into her already injured leg. The other men smirk...confident that he has beaten her. Kenshin arrives at just the right time to save her. The skilled swordsman takes down all those who attack and finally finish off Ginjo with his "Hiten Mitsurugi style ryu tsui sen". Gekki gets angry and grabs a bomb. Although warned, he tosses the bomb causing an enormous explosion and fire. So big, in fact, that it is heard and felt by Miss Kaoru and the others. No need to worry, though, as Kenshin emerges from the fire unharmed carrying Ms. Shura.

A little while later, Kenshin and crew watch from a small boat as the island becomes engulfed in flames. Once on shore, Miss Shura is thankful that the two most dear to her (Sarujiro and Iwazo) were spared. She tells everyone of her plan to continue living making her father's ideals a reality. Ms. Kaoru offers her a place to stay, but Shura says they can't as they are still outlaws and dry land is boring. Before they return to the open sea, Ms. Shura pledges to meet them again someday as friends.
