A Different Kind of Mew Mew

ENDANGERED ANIMALS FROM KIKU’S PLANET:
Frost Cat = Cat made of ice with multiple icicle tails and crystal fangs
Firemane = Molten lion with a flaming mane
Kachuku = Small rabbit-like creature with doglike ears and a catlike tail
Miaku = Big bear-like creature with an eagle’s face and long claws, ears and tail
Lilupa = Wolf-like creature that stands on two legs with leaves around its paws and neck

Chapter One: Animal Infusion
“Stop! It’s the Crystal Mew Mews! Mew Lily!”
“Mew Cherry!”
“Mew Plum!”
“Mew Iris!”
“And me, Mew Chrysanthemum! Prepare to be defeated!”
So how did all this happen? It all started when an alien girl named Kiku Hakukaze from the Tokyo Mew Mew aliens’ race, on their home planet Crystal, slept in and was late for school. But she couldn’t wake up – she was having a dream. But it wasn’t an ordinary dream – it seemed to hold her in sleep.
In the dream, a beautiful alien girl was standing before her and four other girls. She recognized two as her best friends, Ume Fujihayashi and Yuri Kinmouka, but the other two were in shadow. With the unknown girl were a frost cat, firemane, kachuku, miaku, and lilupa. “Humans are coming to drive us away. They want to build their own cities here, and destroy our environment. There are no other planets we could survive on. But I have a solution. You are to be the Crystal Mew Mews to protect our planet,” the girl told them.
Mew Mews? But weren’t those the human girls who defeated the alien scouts who tried to take back the Earth that had been rightfully theirs?
“Kiku, step forward,” the girl ordered. Kiku didn’t want to, but she couldn’t help it. As soon as she did, the kachuku suddenly jumped into her chest and disappeared. “You are to be Mew Chrysanthemum.”
Kiku watched in amazement as her normal shirt (Think maybe Mew Zakuro’s crossed with the aliens’, made more girl-ish, and a little longer) and shorts were transformed into a yellow dress (here think about Hime’s or as you might want to call her, Azumi’s) with a pink ribbon tied around it. Her ballet-type slippers were made into yellow boots with pink lining, and she was suddenly wearing a pink choker and a yellow thigh band lined with pink fur. Her short, Pudding-length green hair was made longer, too. Suddenly she noticed she had the pointed, doglike ears and long catlike tail of the kachuku! Her tail swung around in her face – she couldn’t control the thing yet – and she noticed for the first time there was a bell on it (no ribbon, just a bell), which tinkled. She screamed and drew back, and the woman called another name.
“Ume. You will be Mew Plum. Step forward.” Ume did, and the firemane jumped into her. She was suddenly wearing a lilac leotard with short pants legs (like Pudding’s, color it purple, maybe add in a few lighter spots) and a purple choker and garter lined with pink fur, like Kiku’s. She also had fiery red instead of orange, shorter hair that curled around her chin like a mane, only with the bottom part of the mane gone, firemane ears and a long, flame-tipped tail.
“Yuri, you will be Mew Lily. Step forward.” Yuri was combined with lilupa. She suddenly was wearing a light blue dress (looks like Mint’s, but lighter, poofier and lined with darker fur) and had lilupa ears and a lilupa tail. She also had the lilupa’s leaves around her wrists, ankles and neck. She also had boots like Kiku’s, but blue and shorter with darker blue fur, and a blue chocker and garter with indigo fur. Her medium-length ice-blue hair was kept generally the same.
“Okay, Ayame. You will be Mew Iris.” Ayame stepped forward (like Yuri, she was still constantly shadowed), and the miaku jumped into her. She suddenly got gloves with long iron claws, a long miaku tail and ears. Her long purple hair was in two ponytails. She was wearing a black leotard with white fur and a matching garter and choker.
“And lastly, Sakura. You will be Mew Cherry. Step forward.” Sakura, still in shadow, was fused with the frost cat. She had the blue long icicle-like ears and many icicle tails of the frost cat. She was also wearing a sleeveless red dress and red boots, a scarlet garter lined with pink, and a red choker. Her pink hair was piled up Japanese-style.
“Whatever goes on, whatever happens, just remember: This was NOT a dream. Oh, and Kiku?”
“Yes?” asked the newly transformed Mew Chrysanthemum, still shaking from fear. It actually ended up sounding like “Y-y-yes?”
“Kiku?”
“Kiku, wake UP!”
“WAHH! Sorry, Mom!” Kiku screamed, sitting up in bed and saluting her mom, who had been trying to wake her up for a good fifteen minutes. So… she was lying, Kiku thought grimly. It WAS a dream.
“Go. To. SCHOOL,” her mom ordered, looking pretty mad, which was understandable – Kiku was about a half hour late!
Kiku got dressed, quickly packed her lunch and an extra sandwich to give to Yuri’s older brother Asoko, who was always forgetting his lunch, and hurried to school.
Let’s see. Everyone knows kachukus were bred from earth cats and rabbits, and that created the cuch. Then cuches were bred with dogs, making the kachuku. And so, kachukus have exceptional hearing and smell and can jump very high. They are very fast, and can also change their colors to blend in with their environment. I can do none of that.
And what about my friends? Ume was infused with the firemane, and Yuri with the lilupa. Lilupas can smell and hear well, are excellent hunters, and make plants grow. Yuri killed a supposedly indestructible diamond flower in science and can’t even catch a rozon on its slow days.
And firemanes can make fire appear from their manes and sometimes even shoot lava from their paws. They, like most animals, are good smellers and hearers. Sometimes I think Ume’s practically deaf, especially when she’s excited or off on her own little planet, and when that rupiol walked in the girls’ changing room at gym she didn’t smell a thing. Most girls put on their gym clothes as fast as they could then ran out screaming, but she took her sweet time and even petted the thing. And she’s deathly afraid of fire.
So obviously, it was all just a dream.
Kiku had been running so fast she hadn’t even noticed a car had just pulled out in front of her – and she was about to crash right into it!
Suddenly Kiku jumped. She didn’t will herself to, it just happened. She just jumped, and sailed right over the car. As she landed on the other side of the street, she yelled, “Irresponsible driver! Don’t you know you can’t talk on you cell phone on a highway?” Also a road hazard, the driver just gawked at her as he drove away. The green alien picked herself up and raced to school, her heart pounding. “What was that?’ she asked herself out loud. Closing her eyes, she screamed to the sky as she reached the school parking lot, “I’m not a Mew Mew! I’M JUST A NORMAL GIRL!”
Her heart raced faster as she realized the girl from her dream had never finished her sentence.
“What was she trying to tell me?” Kiku whispered.
High above Kiku’s school, a mysterious alien woman watched her. “I really should have told her sooner…” she whispered. “Oh, I hope it doesn’t happen now!”
And with that ominous last sentence, the woman leaped away and was gone.
