EPISODES 7-9 BRIEF SUMMARIES

Simple Mind

A demolished vehicle is pulled from the river. The now deceased driver was a known thief who had stolen a large sum of money just last month. Because of this, the police take over this investigation.

Two detectives arrive at the home of Tsuneo Tazawa, whom they believe may be involved. They find no one home, but hear a car pull away quickly. The two jump in their vehicle and give chase. Miho and Dojima just happen to pull up as Tazawa is attempting to escape. When Miho's vehicle begins to crumble, the girls swiftly jump out and watch helplessly as Tazawa eludes the detectives.

Later, the members of STN-J trace Tazawa's vehicle to a warehouse. They arrive to find a compactor is slowly crushing the car into scrap metal. Amon shouts for Sakaki to stop the compactor when he discovers a young boy is unconscious in the back seat. At the hospital, Robin and the others learn that the boy was purposely drugged but suffered no other injuries.

In questioning a neighbor of Tazawa, Robin learns that the boy is Mamoru Kudou, only 7 years old. Seems his parents had died, and Tazawa was given custody. They were also told how that boy would do strange things such as bend spoons without touching them. At that point it's apparent that Tazawa is NOT the witch, but Mamoru is.

Returning to the hospital, they find the boy missing. He apparently knew where the stolen money was hidden and went to confront his uncle. The police were in pursuit of his uncle as well, but Mamoru destroys their patrol cars. The boy angrily faces his uncle and accuses him of stealing HIS money and trying to kill him. STN-J arrive in time to see the man crushed between two railway cars. Without the use of orbo, Mamoru is turned over to Factory. (Poor innocent child has no idea what he's in for.)

Faith

If your sensitive and compassionate, this episode will reduce you to tears. Just who decides whether one lives or dies? Is it destiny or a higher power? Two doctors (one of whom is a witch) work together to save the lives of young, innocent children. Unfortunately, to save one's life another must perish. The men take the life of people they feel are useless to society and give a bright future to a very ill child. It's not long before the members of STN-J catch on. Read on for the highlights.

A young girl is saved when the doctor (witch named Kurosawa) transfers the life force from a useless man to the child. The doctors then give an autopsy stating the man died from heart failure due to medication.

Robin has a cold and visits the hospital where the friendly doctor Kurosawa gives her a prescription.

STN-J becomes aware of the phony autopsy and the two doctors. The members of STN-J catch up with the two doctors just as they are grabbing their next victim (a shady member of the mafia). A chase ensues at a high-rise under construction.

Sakaki confronts them in the hallway, but one of the doctors grab him from behind. They attempt to use chloroform on Sakaki and pull his life force, but are prevented by the Orbo. Robin appears. Her powers chase them off. Sakaki says to go after them as he recovers from the effects of the chloroform.

Robin faces Kurosawa on a platform. The other doctor (Kirihara) jumps at Robin from above causing the platform to collapse dumping boards and cement on top of himself. Robin is left on an unstable scaffold swaying from the building's edge, while Kurosawa checks on Kirihara...he is dead.

Some poignant words are exchanged between Robin and Kurosawa. Afterwards, he gives his life force to his comrade. Before Kurosawa dies he asks Kirihara to save Robin.

Robin is left with just a sprained arm.
