Redemption Day

It is this episode where Robin learns how her very existence came to be. Cited as the "devil's child" by the dying researcher in the previous episode, Robin sadly questions the nature of her being. Here are the highlights:

Robin gives food to Nagira and his office staff before solemnly leaving with Amon. At the same time Sakaki and Dojima are keeping Factory under surveillance.

Zaizen has been told that 80% of the data from Toudou's information has been deciphered, however, 20% may have been destroyed to prevent discovery. Zaizen's scientist hope that somehow they can piece together this puzzle.

When Amon and Robin arrive at STN-J, Michael informs the young girl that she has a visitor. Robin falls on her knees before Father Juliano and confesses she has sinned. She asked the Father to tell her of the deep sin that she has been poisoned with. He confirms Robin's suspicions that she was created by means of genetic manipulation. Toudou continued research even though Solomon wanted the project stopped. He experimented using the genes of Maria to create Robin. Juliano then admits that Maria was his daughter making Robin his grand daughter.

Father Juliano continued by explaining why he couldn't bury her the day she was born. He told Robin Maria had a genetic abnormality at birth and didn't have long to live. The priest couldn't bare to lose his daughter. When he heard that Maria was "with child", he felt that God has smiled upon him. He soon learned that Toudou was only using Maria as a pawn in his experiments. When he saw the baby, the child Maria wanted to exchange her own life for, he just wanted to love and care for it. He told himself that maybe she did not possess the powers of Toudou's experiments. But then she obtained the Craft's ultimate technique. He asked her to be hunted, because he began to worry...then fear that her powers would overtake her. He realizes now that she hasn't changed and tells her she must accept her powers and live on. He then presented her with the missing pages of Toudou's diary. He explained how Maria looked towards Robin as a means of hope. Before leaving he kisses her forehead and asks for forgiveness.

While Robin was talking to Father Juliano, Dojima informs Amon and Michael she just received a call from headquarters. Solomon will be sending out an attack force to Factory. They must act quickly if they mean to rescue Miho. The attack will occur the next day at dawn.

At Factory, Zaizens computer brings up alarming data on "Project Robin." However, the data is protected by a strong encryption. Zaizen insists his scientist speed up their work for time is running out.

That evening, Amon and the others ambush a Factory vehicle and it's men. Nagira, also, joins in the fray. They quickly change into their newly acquired Factory attire. While Dojima and the others get through Factory's check points, the Chief heads to the police station.

After infiltration, Michael finds that they must get to the ground floor using the only elevator available. They notice a lax in security and a mysterious door. Michael hacks into it. Once inside, they wonder where they are....the entrance said Plant. It appears to be where they create orbo, but where is the witch detention facility? Robin's hand brushes past a panel that elevates a liquid filled pod. How shocking....inside are the bodies of human witches hunted by STN-J. The true form of the supposed "humane" hunt is revealed. Could Karasuma be here....???

Time to Tell

The exciting conclusion to an amazing anime. Here are the highlights:

HQ is set to attack the moment the signal for Dojima's cel phone is interrupted. Meanwhile, Factory is well aware of the intruders and are blocking off some of the exits. Zaizen has been informed of HQ's impending attack ordering a continued evacuation of the researchers.

When they find the only elevator is not working, Michael and Sakaki stay behind to hack into it's controls. Nagira accompanies Dojima upstairs while Robin and Amon continue their search for Miho.

After Nagira and Dojima are able to get into the elevator, security opens fire on Sakaki and Michael. (I love the way Michael whistles when Sakaki pulls out all of his fire power).

Meanwhile Zaizen manipulates Miho into taking a gun to stop Robin stating, "Can you live in the world where the strongest of the strong oppress the weak? You will either hunt by my side or join Robin in death." He gives her one last chance. Miho takes the orbo gun and leaves to find Robin.

Michael has gotten Dojima and Nagira to the top, but when the elevator opens, it is pelted with bullets. When there is a break in the gunfire, they exit.

Amon and Robin have found their way to Zaizen. Robin asks where Miho is, as well as Toudou's ROM. Zaizen plays the ROM for Robin to see. Toudou explained how he wanted to create the perfect witch, but others laughed and called it a "Devil's child" project. Toudou continues to talk of humanity during ancient times. When Zaizen hears Toudou claim that mankind are the servants of witches, he angrily orders all data to be destroyed. Miho stops them and orders the transmission to continue defying Zaizen's orders.

Toudou goes on to say that witches are God's chosen beings. A furious Zaizen pulls out gun. Just then alarms blare ... the witches in the tanks have started to go out of control. This will cause the self-destruct device to detonate. Did Robin's existence awaken their spirits? Zaizen aims the gun full of the highest concentration of orbo at Robin. When Amon intervenes, Zaizen shoots him in the shoulder. That's when Robin goes into action, however the orbo deflects it. Suddenly, Zaizen himself experiences the side effects of orbo on humans. Robin looks at him angrily and says, "defeating witches using orbo created from witches themselves....I can't forgive you".

Zaizen continues to fire at Robin but they cannot penetrate her barrier, and with every pull of the trigger he gets weaker. Zaizen stumbles into a small cylindrical elevator and escapes. He watches as the flames ascend the shaft to engulf him wondering if HQ was right after all.

Robin embraces Miho. She feels deep sadness for the oppression of witches, but says she will not let her power get out of control. Amon says if it does, he will kill her himself. Robin grins and admits she's on probation. Miho expresses the need for them to escape.

While running, Robin hears the cries of the witches and uses her powers to free their spirits forever. The building begins its self-destruction. From outside Dojima calls HQ telling them to hold off the attack since the building is collapsing. The Chief arrives with the police department ordering them to rescue the STN-J members. Slowly the members emerge from the building....Michael....Sakaki....Miho.... But where is Amon and Robin? Nagira is sure they are alive....

After the destruction of Factory, life returned to normal at STN-J. The gatekeeper reads his horoscope....Lucky Color, Black. A car pulls up, and the replacement exits.........Could it be??...
