Both the Liger and Arashi are captured and held within a Death Metal Research Institute. Arashi is thrown into a cell where he encounters a small, green-haired boy who introduces himself as Onigiri. As it turns out, Onigiri is forced to develop keys for Death Metal's Death Blast.
A short time later, Onigiri is taken from his cell and ordered to use a prototype key on a Gannontoise. It fails.
Elsewhere, the Wild Liger escapes and finds Arashi. Two Death Metal superiors mount their Raptor and Kuwaga to battle. The Liger defeats the Raptor but with difficulty since he still has the electrical restraints on his ankles.
When Onigiri is in immediate danger, the Gannontoise steps in to save him. The Zoid key appears and Onigiri and the Gannontoise Wild Blast and defeat the Kuwaga.
After the events, Arashi, Onigiri, and the Wild Liger escape. Onigiri agrees to join Team Freedom.
Returning to Death Metal, the Zoids belonging to the defeated men are dropped into a pit with Caviar of the Elite Four's Gabriator.
