Dan and Runo

The pairing of Dan and Runo comes as no surprise to me. As with many Japanese anime, the two start out fighting like cats and dogs. Geez, you'd think they hated one another. Then comes the blushing when things get a bit more personal. Afterwards it's the "I just realized that I have feelings for this person" light bulb. And....in this case....the two actually do get together. In the final episode....Dan is seen anxiously leaving home to meet Runo. She is dressed up waiting for him, and they end up arm in arm. It's just one of those endings that ya just want to sigh and smile.

Dan and Runo have known each other since childhood.

It appears that they don't get along, but that is not the case.

Dan is impressed with Runo's abilities, and Runo finally admitted to herself that she likes Dan (This happened in episode 32).

In the end, they look like a very happy couple. Speaking of happy couples...look who's sitting on the park bench behind them.... Joe and Chan...kawaii!!!
