Episode 56: Rivals, Gather!

Highlights of the episode:

It's the beginning of the Chuunin Exam. (Let's see if all that training paid off.) Boruto meets up with Sarada and Mitsuki. Groups from many villages gather for the Opening Ceremony. Shikamaru delivers the opening speech welcoming everyone to the first Chunin Exams of the Five Allied Villages; The Hidden Leaf, The Hidden Cloud, The Hidden Mist, The Hidden Stone, and The Hidden Sand. Exam One will begin promptly at noon in Exam Venue A. Before hand Boruto and crew go to lunch. Boruto has a little run in with the Hidden Cloud, but Shinki breaks it up.

At noon, Sai announces the outline of the first round. It will be a true or false quiz, and the question will be given in Exam Venue B. To get there, the genin must arrive within one hour and make it through a harrowing round of traps! Anyone who doesn't make it will be disqualified. What a surprise, the group from the Hidden Stone trip and slide right into a trap. Bye bye to them. Looks like Tenten had laid many (if not all) of the traps, and she is not going to go easy on them.

Those who arrived at Exam Venue B in time are given the question. Sai mentions that those who turn black will fail. He instructs them to stand on a true or false side. Once everyone has chosen a side, the ground on both give way to a long drop into an ink pool. Those who did not fall in... pass.

Genin of the Hidden Leaf, Hidden Sand, Hidden Mist, and Hidden Cloud passed. The next round begins in three days.

Thankfully, Boruto didn't have to use his devise, but he feels his teammates bailed him out on that last round. Naruto sends him a kudo's email, which Boruto ends up saving. His resolve to be acknowledged by his father continues to grow.
