Episode 59: Boruto vs. Shikadai

As the Chunin exams continue, it's Chocho Akimichi facing off against Shinki of the Hidden Sand Village. Shinki is saying she nor the others are capable of becoming shinobi. This pisses Chocho off, and she starts with partial expansion jutsu. Shinki, however, had infused chakra into the iron sand to manipulate it.

When asked where he found Shinki, Gaara has a flashback. The boy was extremely angry, and his chakra was out of control. Gaara calmed the youngster and told him that he would teach him how to control his power.

Returning to the match; In a last attempt to win, Chocho uses a jutsu she really hates, the human boulder. Ultimately, she is no match for Shinki. Her loss marks the end of the elimination matches.

It's on to the semi-finals. Next up is Boruto Uzumaki and Shikadai Nara after a 30 minute break. At first Boruto takes off the glove but then he overhears Shikadai's parents telling him not to lose to Boruto. Shikadai has had special training as well.

During their match, it isn't until Shikadai traps Boruto using his Shadow Paralysis that Boruto must resort to the glove. Feeling like he can't lose and disappoint his father, Boruto uses the glove to produce an additional shadow clone that breaks the binding of Shikadai's jutsu. This gives Boruto the edge he needs to win the match. Boruto advances to the finals in an undeserved victory.
