Episode 60: The Hidden Leaf vs. The Hidden Sand

Highlights:

The Chunin exams continue. Sarada will be competing against Araya of the Sand. Rock Lee announces the start of the battle.

Sarada uses her Sharingan to anticipate her opponent's moves, but she is having some difficulty keeping up with Araya. When her genjutsu doesn't work, Sarada gets suspicious. She notices something about Araya. Are those chakra threads? "Lightning Style: Lightning Ball!" Sarada sends it to the roof above the stands. Thankfully, Metal makes sure any debris doesn't come crashing down on anyone. There on the roof is the actual human Araya. He is a puppet user and hates being the center of attention. Shinki has him finish, but Sarada engages "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" That's the last of that puppet. Sarada advances.

Next up, Mitsuki vs. Shinki! Shinki's iron sand manipulation proves quite formidable for Mitsuki, but he is keeping up well. When he is unable to penetrate Shinki's barrier with his snakes, Mitsuki uses Striking Shadow Snake Burial to pull his opponent underground. Boruto worries that someone may get hurt or worse die, but Shinki reappears.

The fight continues. Mitsuki uses Snake Lightning, which dissipates Shinki's iron sand. Mitsuki goes in for a punch that is quickly averted by Shinki. Unfortunately, Mitsuki takes the brunt of an iron fist. Shinki produces a spear that will pierce right thru Mitsuki by magnetic force. Mitsuki's only choice is to use sage transformation. Instead Mitsuki concedes.
"Damn you... why?" Shinki asks.
"If we had continued any further, it might inconvenience my parent." Mitsuki admits.
Everyone is stumped about what just happened, but Mitsuki knows it is for the best if he wishes to stay by Boruto's side.

Tomorrow, the finals will commence between Boruto, Shinki, and Sarada.

That evening, Moegi takes her bruised and battered team for Barbe-Q. Shikadai asks if they are lacking something? Moegi says they will continue special training and prepare for the next Chunin Exams. Unfortunately, poor Moegi is left with a huge bill when Inojin orders 20 servings of meat! Uh oh!!

Elsewhere, Sasuke is showing Boruto strong techniques. Sasuke believes that Boruto's chakra has a strong lightning nature. He tells the boy to work to improve the precision of seals that configure the lightning style. In time you'll be able to use powerful techniques.

The next day, the finals begin.
