The Past Revealed! The Heartless Gizmon:AT!

Yukidarumon walks peacefully through a forest blanketed in fresh snow. She hears a crying baby and runs towards the sound. She finds a lone infant. From a fading digital gate, Yukidarumon hears the screams of Mrs. Noguchi and knows the child's name is Ikuto. She takes the child with her to care for.

It is now present day, Ikuto demands the others do not fight. While he is talking to Mercurimon, they learn that it was Gotsumon alone who wanted to hurt Ikuto. Mercurimon said many digimon hate humans, and Gotsumon was one of them. Ikuto concurred that he too use to hate humans until he met Masaru and the others. It taught him that not all humans are bad. Just as Ikuto finishes speaking, the cunning Kurata appears with his soldiers and Gizmon. He says, digimon are dangerous beasts that inflict harm upon human beings. His military draw their weapons. Mercurimon is angry with Masaru for bringing this man with them. "That man is the very one who killed our comrades and Yukidarumon!" he tells the shocked DATS team.

After the intro, the scene returns to ten years in the past. Gotsumon has brought Mercurimon to see Yukidarumon protecting the human child. The large snow digimon refused to hand over the child, and resolved to care for him as his mother. Mercurimon watched as she poured her heart and soul into caring for the child.

Returning to Kurata, he tells a different story. A flashback shows The Digital World Exploration Team. All was going well until a younger Kurata began to shoot at a large digimon he believed was attacking. Once Kurata fired at the digimon, the team became a target themselves. Everywhere they ran Digimon were after them. They entered the Infinite Ice Ridge to take refuge, but were attacked by SaberLeomon. That's when Kurata used the space oscillation bomb to force open a digital gate. However, Professor Daimon stayed behind to ensure that the others got to safety. "When a man wants to protect something, he can find hidden strength within him," he said after landing a powerful punch on SaberLeomon.

Shortly thereafter Mercurimon joined the fray. The two began to use words instead of fists. Professor Daimon explained the sudden appearances of Digital Gates in the human world, and how a large number of humans had disappeared without a trace. He also spoke of his search for Ikuto. Mercurimon told how Ikuto was being cared for dearly. After a little more talking, Mercurimon told Suguru to meet with Yggdrasil. However, Yggdrasil is a God and will be difficult to find. The two vow to do their best so that both digimon and humans can live in harmony.

Kurata interjects that we haven't heard from Suguru since, and he's probably lying dead somewhere. The scene changes to DATS headquarters where Captain Satsuma says Suguru is alive! "The blueprint of the Digivice that we received from the Digital World is solid proof of that," he says. Then Kudamon spoke up saying how the Professor entrusted both he and Kamemon with a message. They were to cooperate with humans and create an organization that provided protection to any Digimon who came wandering into the human world. That's when the Digital Accident Tactics Squad (DATS) was formed.

Things fall into place for Touma. He says, "That explains why there is no data for Kudamon or Kamemon in HQ's database. It's because in order to fulfill Professor Daimon's wishes, they arrived as emissaries from the Digital World to prevent any vain battles the Digimon Instigate with humans." Mercurimon further explains how any digimon that entered the human world were turned into digitama and transferred back to the Digital World. Meanwhile, he continued to watch over the digital gate at Infinite Ice Ridge.

Some years later, peace was destroyed when Kurata brought his comrades and attacked the Digital World! "It's Showtime!" the evil man shouted before an unmerciful attack on the digital world and it's digimon. Mercurimon first believed that Suguru had betrayed him. Kurata's attacks were deadly for digimon. The Gizmon he created didn't even leave the digitama behind. Digimon were completely destroyed. The destruction would have continued had Mercurimon not used this "Thousand Fist" to destroy the Gizmon. Kurata (the coward he is) created a gate and ran back to the human world. Unfortunately, the damage was done, and Yukidarumon, among others, were gone forever. Ikuto and Falcomon were devastated. Gotsumon blamed Ikuto for everything. Mercurimon consoled the boy telling him to live in the forest as the Digital World's warrior. That's when Ikuto first applied war-paint to his cheeks.

Hearing all this, the DATS team look at Kurata with contempt. He doesn't seem to care. Suddenly, Mercurimon is brought down with a powerful beam. Kurata proudly announces his latest invention.....the Gizmon: AT!!!!

"Kurata, you're not getting away with this!" Masaru screams angrily.
