"Those who interrupt the program re-installation process will be permanently deleted," claims King Drasil (Yggdrasil). Marcus and Agumon aren't going to let that happen! "It's fighting time," they yell as they charge toward the ominous digimon. Drasil attacks with crystal spheres, but the two dodge the attacks. Thomas, Yoshi, Keenan, and their rookie digimon join the fray. The King then uses sharp vines, but that doesn't stop Marcus....they keep charging forward. When a deadly attack is about to strike Thomas and the others, their digimon are able to digivolve and save their human partners. Their emotions allowed them to digivolve even without their digivice. The evolved digimon keep the attacks going as Marcus and Agumon get closer to their target.

On Earth, everyone watches with hope and faith. Even the Royal Knights are helping by keeping the Digital World from crashing down on Earth. Suddenly, DNA charge radiates from the emotions of many people. King Drasil chants that their chances of winning is 0%, but Thomas, Keenan , and Yoshi insist that together they can win cause they have the backing of their friends, family and digimon partners. Even the Royal Knights believe that their honor gives them strength....not the word of a king.

"Cannot compute..," King Drasil continues to chant while holding Marcus and Agumon tightly in it's vines. "Were friends and together we make the ultimate team!" his captives insist. Marcus and Agumon join hands. As their DNA charges, Agumon begins to glow and gain wings. Freeing themselves, the two break through King Drasil's force field and right through his body.

"Fatal Error....Fatal Error....," King Drasil's larger body disintegrates and a statue-like woman's body appears. Marcus lunges toward it and gives it his fiercest punch. The aftermath of the huge explosion that followed places both Marcus and Agumon floating in a white light. King Drasil speaks to them. He (it?) concedes and says that, although he'll be watching, the Earth will be given another chance.

Back on Earth: "Marcus wake up," Yoshi cries. When Marcus slowly raises his head in bewilderment, he is told that everything is back to normal thanks to him. The Digital Barrier has been completely restored. The Royal Knights thank him, too, before returning to the Digital world.

A short time later, a helicopter arrives and everyone is re-united with their families. Marcus hangs his head sadly when telling his mother that he was unable to keep his promise and bring dad back. All of a sudden a voice is heard from a distance, and a man walks towards them. "Dad!" Marcus cries running towards the man, "Is it really you!?!"
"It's me," he says, "the one and only, Spenser Daimon." He explains that as a gift to Marcus, King Drasil brought him back to life.

Later, back at DATS headquarters, Sampson tells the others that they are closing the digital gate. He tells them the missing have returned after 10 years, the digital barrier has been restored, and the two worlds are safe again. However, there is still some instability. They feel the responsible thing to do is to close the digital gate. To the surprise of their human partners, Agumon, Gaomon and the others say they need to go back. The Digital World is in chaos since they lost their leader so the digimon want to go back and help rebuild their world and restore the stability.

A short time later each of the DATS crew is spending their last few hours with their digimon before they must say goodbye. Agumon and Marcus are fighting, because the boy refuses to let Agumon go . He wishes he could go as well. Elsewhere Thomas is enjoying one of his last cups of tea brewed by Gaomon, while Yoshi and Lalamon enjoy some fun time together. Keenan and Falcomon are saying their tearful goodbyes and the others say their goodbyes by other means.

The next day everyone has come to DATS to see their digimon off, but Marcus is no where to be found. Just as Megumi and Miki are preparing the gate, Marcus shows up with backpack and gear ready. He says with Merukimon gone, someone has to keep an eye on the digimon. To everyone's surprise Spenser Daimon agrees with the boy. "Let's go, Agumon." Marcus says, "Now we can always fight together side by side."

The last few moments of the episode show what everyone has accomplished a few years later. Inside the Daimon home, Mr. Daimon is watching Thomas receive an award for discovering a cure for Relena's illness. At the police station both Miki and Megumi are excitedly watching as well. Kristy and Keenan have grown some and are attending school together. Yoshi greets and passes them in her squad car before driving off to catch up with Kogi who was riding a motorcycle without a helmet.

In the Digital World, a group of Goblimon are just about to fight when Marcus and Agumon step in. "Anyone caught fighting in the Digital World has to deal with me. Marcus Daimon...the ultimate Justice of the peace. Ready Agumon!"
