Summary:
Both Koshiro and Taichi's destinations take them to a familiar place. Nanomon, the one who loves knowledge, appears before them. He challenges Koshiro to a match to see who is the better expert of knowledge. Koshiro is not given a choice as Whamon has been captured and is about to be attacked by the mega digimon, Grankuwagamon! Koshiro accepts.
The rules to win: You pass through the dungeon Nanomon built, find where he is, and manage to tap him within 30 minutes. There are riddles prepared in the dungeon. Unfortunately, Koshiro was incorrect in solving the first riddle resulting in Taichi's capture. Nanomon tells him every time he makes a mistake, he will take one of your friends. The friends taken will undergo surgery and become Nanomon.... eeewwww.
The next riddle is handled correctly by Koshiro when he chooses the burning bridge. He advances with 15 minutes left. Koshiro answers the third riddle incorrectly, and Agumon disappears.
After Tentomon rescues Koshiro from explosives, he gives the boy a pep talk. Koshiro wants to play the game once more, and Nanomon agrees. Koshiro believes the water is part of the answer to the third riddle so they both jump in. Kabuterimon and Koshiro emerge to find the captive Whamon! When attacked by Grankuwagamon, Kabuterimon super evolves to Atlurkabuterimon. After landing a nasty fall in the battle, Koshiro realizes the answer to Nanomon's location.
"Only when you have friends does your knowledge shine!" Koshiro says after his digivice glows. AtlurKabuterimon mega evolution to HerakleKabuterimon!
Koshiro tricked Nanomon into believing Whamon was on fire. When Nanomon shows himself, HerakleKabuterimon defeats GranKuwagamon, and Koshiro tags Nanomon.
Turns out Nanomon was manipulated by Soundbirdmon, who were Devimon's minions on Cloud Continent.
Thanks to everything that happened, Koshiro, too, has gained the crest's power.
