To cheer Gammamon up, Hiro decides to take him camping. While signing up at the campground, Hiro learns that they have been having trouble with customers going home without paying lately. "It's like Kasumi-sama (a small shrine in the forest) spirited them away," the campsite managers say.
After pitching their tent, Hiro takes Gammamon fishing. The small digimon is happy and excited about everything. Hiro recalls his conversation with Ruli and Kiyoshiro discussing evolutions. They did not want to consider Gulusgammamon for fear of jinxing them. It makes Hiro wonder as well. Suddenly, they hear a scream coming from the forest. They go to investigate.
Back at the dorm, per Ruli's request, Kiyoshiro is checking on Hiro. They find he went camping. Kiyoshiro has heard about the rumors of Kasumi-sama, and Ruli becomes immediately interested. Worried about Hiro, they head to the camp.
Meanwhile, Hiro and Gammamon come across the hat and chainsaw of the forestry workers and wonder where they could have gone. Suddenly, the trees begin to move, eyes appear, and fog covers the area. Hiro is grabbed by a tree limb, but Gammamon bites through it and frees him. The tree digimon, Jyureimon, says he wants Hiro to become one of his tree rings. Luckily, Morishellmon helped them.
Morishellmon explained that Jyureimon eats prey to get stronger. He doesn't want him getting any stronger so he's been hiding humans and putting them to sleep. Jyureimon approaches...ready to devour them all. Morishellmon and Gammamon fight. Gammamon evolves. When Betelgammamon is captured, Teslajellymon and Symbaangoramon arrive to help. Morishellmon surrounds them with fog, but Jyureimon breaks through. Hiro has an idea.
Betelgammamon, Teslajellymon, and Symbaangoramon work together and destroy Jyureimon's tree rings. After he leaves vowing revenge, the captured humans are awakened. "I don't want to see a softy like you around here ever again," Morishellmon tells Hiro while disappearing into the forest.
After an enlightening quote from Angoramon, Ruli says she is hungry. Gammamon wants to get back to camping. Hiro wonders if he has enough supplies?
