A wise scientist demonstrating to two men the construction robots that cut the costs of building renovations is pulled into a spider's web along with the two men. Sadly, it was "off with his head" for the poor scientist!!
At his dorm, Hiro is visited by a woman claiming to be Sonya Molena, a co-worker of his mother. She convinces him to visit "The Menacing Insect World" event with Ruli and Kiyoshiro. (Somehow she knows about Gammamon and friends.)
When they get to the building, Ruli notices that it was a Mall that was closed a few years ago. The woman talks of devouring Gammamon's brain, and the kids become suspicious of the woman's deception. Hiro asks, "Who are you?" The woman suddenly transforms into Archnemon, an ultimate digimon that is highly intelligent and cunning! She orders her assistants (venomous Dokugumon) to get them. While the Dokugumon give chase, Archnemon is monitoring their abilities using cameras about the building.
Unfortunately, even after transformations to Teslajellymon, Symbaagoramon, Wezengammamon, and Kausgammamon all of the children and their digimon become tangled within Archnemon's web. She crawls her way down to Gammamon and, to Hiro's horror, is about to eat the little digimon's head when he evolves to Gulusgammamon. He puts his fist in Archnemon's mouth and with 'Desdemona,' she is destroyed. Everyone is released from their web captivity.
Afterwards, Hiro approached Gulusgammamon. "Stay back," he says, "It's not time yet." Suddenly, he transforms back to an exhausted Gammamon. Watching from above is Terriermon.
Survivors are taken away by ambulance while the children watch. Hiro gets a text from his mother saying her friend Sonya will be arriving in Japan soon so please show her around. Hopefully, this will be the real deal!
