After a serious fight, Shadramon was about to turn back into Digitama, but he hears a voice that promises he will not lose his memories. Then Three lights absorb his data and turns it into a small data cube-like object. That cube is transplanted into Tomatsu Ihara who happened to be sleeping in the University Research/Laboratory.
The next morning, a holographic appendage appears out of Ihara's body. At first he thinks it's a dream, but it keeps happening. Kiyoshiro notices his friend is acting strangely, and witnesses it happen. Kiyo takes him to Hiro and Ruli. They too witness the strange holographic appendages. Angoramon doesn't know what it could be as well. That evening, Ihara ventured outside and rummaged through garbage, but the next morning, he had no memory of doing so.
Ruli has Mummymon check Ihara out over the phone. He notices something, but wants to examine him in person. A voice in Ihara threatens him if he is examined so Ihara refuses. Mummymon tells Ruli, "If he won't come to me, I will go to him."
Back at the dorm, Shadramon sees himself as part human in a reflection. He ties up Kiyroshiro and flies away. Jellymon and Hiro find Kiyoshio a short time later and untie him. Mummymon says they will find Shadramon where a bug-type digimon would go.
The boys find Ihara, but he is now fused to Shadramon! Gammamon and Jellymon evolve when Shadramon begins o attack. Even though it is happening, Shadramon insists it is not him! Espimon uses search mode to identify a Nanomon in Ihara's ear. Once discovered, Nanomon admits that he was trying to regenerate a Digimon with their old memories by using a human body, but it failed. He could not separate the two.
Mummymon arrives. He is updated on the situation. He says a Nanomon will stick like a magnet. Jellymon and Espimon work together to create a catch magnet. Nanomon is removed from Ihara's ear.
In order to separate human and Digimon, Teslajellymon super evolves to Thetismon. Using "Adue World," Shadramon is removed from Ihara's body. Teleportation was used. Sadly, Shadramon becomes digitama a short time later. Thankfully, Mummymon says Ihara is physically and spiritually fit...only passed out.
Blacktailmon arrives to take Nanomon back to the Digital World. Hiro asks if he would deliver another letter to his father. The episode ends with Angoramon's wisdom.
