Ruli and her friends attend a delicious Cake Festival where you could eat as much as you want for a few hours. At one point, Ruli swallows something strangely crunchy. After the event, she becomes unbearably hungry and nothing seems to satisfy that hunger.
The next day, Hiro and Kiyoshiro notice her overindulgence. Even after consuming tons of food, Ruli begins to look like a starving human with dark circles under her eyes and sunken in cheeks. After she goes berserk and loses consciousness, Angoramon and the boys take her to Mummymon. While there, a Quartzmon emerges from Ruli and disappears into the sky.
Hiro (riding Kausgammamon), Kiyoshiro, Jellymon, and Espimon follow the Quartzmon and notice many many more! Espimon evolves to HoverEspimon to hold Kiyoshiro.
The boys arrive at Quartzmon's outer shell. They watch as thousands of the small black objects are sent down to Earth. These objects are steeling human life energy. Hiro asks Quartzmon to stop, but the Digimon says they are stopping the flow of time and begins attacking.
Kausgammamon evolves to Canoweissmon, and Jellymon evolves to Thetismon.
Quartzmon is too strong and soon Canoweissmon and Thetismon are captured. Angoramon arrives with a dying Ruli. Hiro and Kiyoshiro won't let their friend die!!
Canoweissmon evolves to Siriusmon! Thetismon evolves to Amphimon!
After he is defeated, they ask Quartzmon to please return Ruli's life energy. That's when they learn that Quartzmon has sent down clones of himself to help feed thousands of Young Digimon. After they come to an agreement, and Amphimon offers her Digimon farming business, Quartzmon returns the human's life energy.
Clockmon finds Hiro and the others. He tells them that Digimon are rapidly flooding into this World. Apparently, someone is telling them to escape to the human World! Hiro wonders if it's the same one who was mentioned by other Digimon they encountered.
