Episode 1: The Strange Boy, and the Thing That Protects Him

As you will see in this fic I am still very obsessed with dragons... I'm sorry if I bore you guys with this stuff... I'm sorry if you ladies out there that read my fics are offended by me saying guys all the time... -_-;

I have a short attention span unless my mind is set on something. Well... I guess I'll get on with the fic, but first, here are what the people sound like (just cause people like relaying voices in their memory to the fics they read) (I use Sai Saishi from G Gundam as Yoh from Shaman King when I read that... that's irrelevant right now...). Takio sounds like Chibi Knives from  Trigun(...Tai from Digimon...)(just cause I said so). Rem (I like this name...) sounds like... Rem from Trigun...Mr. Trinity(...I'm in a blank right now...) sounds like the scientist from,
where else, Dual!. Oh and finally, my personal favorite character in this chapter...ash looks a lot like the silver lizard from Betterman that transforms into armor that fits on that girl that shows up sometimes...

"Oh crap!!!!!! Run away!!!!!" a young man yelled as he was running away from nothing at all, it seemed to his classmates anyway. This young man with black hair and a green headband, along with strange eyes that changed color, right now they were blue... this is, sadly, our hero. Yes, it's very sad. What? Me? I'm Drago Dracini, narrator, writer, basically... I choose what happens to our hero. No I will not make an appearance!!! On with the story or I'll blow you up!

"Takio... there's nothing there..." one of the boy's classmates said.
"Of course there is! There's a giant robot and a freakish lizard following me!" Takio said as he pointed behind him then looked. "Wha...? They're gone! I'm safe now!" Takio yelled in relief as he walked to his class.

"That guy needs to get on some meds or somethin..." another classmate said before Takio walked into his 8th grade class.

"Quiet! Takio may be crazy, but I have a class to teach!" the teacher said as he walked in and everyone shut up.

"...I kinda feel like I dun belong here..." Takio said to himself.

"Takio! Stop daydreaming!" the teacher yelled as he tossed a pencil at Takio's head, not noticing it was sharp.

"What?" Takio asked as he saw the pencil and caught it in the air then threw it through the wall and into a pencil box 8 classes down.

"Ta... Ta... Takio... p... please leave now..." the teacher said with bugged out eyes.

"Uh... ok..." Takio said as he walked out of the school towards home. Takio walked into his house to find his parents fighting again. "They never notice me...no matter... I'll be gone soon anyway." Takio thought to himself as he walked into his room.

::Intermission:: Just so you know... I'm also going to put in music, so...as long as you've seen the shows/movies that his songs are from you should get the idea. Alright... well here's how it starts out, <Music, who by, what show/movie>Text<End>.::Intermission End::

Takio's parents are still fighting and Takio is trying to sleep. Takio growls as he falls asleep. ::Entering Dream:: Takio is walking away from his house with a backpack. <Jim's Theme, Goo Goo Dolls, Treasure Planet> Takio starts running towards a planet going over the horizon. A robot starts chasing him, transforming it's right arm into a buster cannon. Takio looks back as a meteor strikes the robot down. Takio looks into the sky to see meteor crashing down. Takio starts running towards the planet again. Meteors strike the houses he runs past. He finally reaches a cliff overlooking a barren wasteland with craters and a single house a lot like his own. He starts to run towards it when the wasteland explodes destroying everything. <End>::Dream Abruptly Ends::

Takio wakes up with a scream. His parents must have gone to sleep cause he didn't hear them fighting. He once again saw the lizard that had been "chasing" him earlier sleeping at the foot of his bed. He reaches out to touch it and it disappears. "I've never... had a real friend..." Takio said as he packed a backpack full of clothes, his Gameboy Advance SP and games, money from his parents purse and wallets, and laptop and gets dressed. "Sorry mom, dad... but I can't stand this anymore. I hope you understand." Takio wrote in a letter and placed it on the eggs in the fridge.

Takio started running out the door. He noticed, by looking at his watch, that it was only 12:00 PM. He continued running as he closed and locked the door behind him. "Why am I doing this...
it's... better this way... they can fight or divorce without worrying about me..." Takio thought as he continued leaning forward and running.

"Hey! Look out!" a girl from Takio's school yelled as he ran his face into her breasts by accident. "You pervert!" the girl yelled as she threw Takio through the air.

"Sorry!" Takio yelled as he hit the pavement.

"Oh... Takio... hi... I didn't know it was you." the girl said.

"Hey Rem...but if you knew it was me would that reaction of  yours have changed?" Takio asked in a perverted sort of voice.

"No... I probably would have thrown you into that yard across the street." the girl replied with her face all red.

"What are you doing out here at this time of night anyway?" Takio asked in a more concerned voice.

"Oh my God! I almost forgot! My father is sick, he has a fever of 107 degrees!" Rem yelled in a surprised and worried voice.

"And you left him alone!?" Takio yelled in a confused voice.

"Please Takio, I'll do whatever you want, just please go take care of my dad!" Rem yelled concerned.

"Anything?" Takio asked pervertedly.

"...Anything that doesn't involve your sick mind..." Rem said.

"Crap... fine I'll do it." Takio said as Rem kissed him on the cheek and ran off.

"Ok... that was weird..." Takio said.

"What was I supposed to do again." Takio asked himself as he walked past Rem's house. "Oh yea!" Takio yelled as he ran into the house.

When he got to the door he heard a coughing fit and busted the door down (it wasn't even locked...what a dumbass...).

"*Cough* Oh, *Cough* Takio... where's *cough* Rem? *cough cough*" Rem's dad (Mr. Trinity) asked as he sat in a recliner.

"Wow... you look awful. (he's not just stupid... he's insensitive too...)" Takio said smiling.

"You don't look to good yourself chimpy." Mr. Trinity replied.

"Chimpy?!" Takio yelled in annoyance. "I'll do whatever you want, just take care of him!" Takio heard ring in his head. "Fine..." Takio said to himself as he put a damp cloth on Mr. Trinity's forehead (maybe he's not so bad...).

Three days and nights passed and Mr. Trinity got better. "Well, Takio, why were you out that night anyway?" Mr. Trinity asked at breakfast.

"I ran away. Plain and simple." Takio replied while he scarfed down bacon, eggs, syrup, butter, and pancakes in just 3 bites.

"Why would you do that?" Rem asked sweetly. "My parents fight, without me there they can get a divorce, or even make up." Takio replied as he continued eating.

"I guess your life sucks huh?" Mr. Trinity asked insensitively.

"You could say that..." Takio replied.

"Then how about being a guinea pig for one of my inventions?" Mr. Trinity asked.

"I guess... as long as it doesn't involve pain or death." Takio replied.

"Then it's settled, you're my guinea pig for my new invention, the Parallel Universe Transporter!" Mr. Trinity yelled excitedly.

That night Takio and Mr. Trinity met in the lab.
"You just need to sit in that chair over there." Mr. Trinity explained as Takio sat down.

"If this doesn't work and you shock me even a little bit... then I'll throw you out the window." Takio said as Mr. Trinity attached him to the machine.

"Transportation in...!" Mr. Trinity began.

"What?! Transportation?! You never said I'd leave! This'll kill me won't it!? Oh damn!" Takio yelled as Mr. Trinity pulled the switch and Takio disappeared.

Takio appears in a vortex of light. "What in the... where am I..." He asked himself as he reached a bubble that held the picture of a small town with robots fighting. "Wow..." Takio said as he touched the bubble and was pulled in. Takio was pulled through tunnel after tunnel after tunnel of flashing lights. Eventually he appeared in the same chair he was in before he passed through the tunnels.

"Where am I...?" Takio asked himself scratching his head. He then fell out of the chair from the pain he just noticed coming from is shoulder blades. He reached back and touched his shoulder blades then put his hand in front of his face to see blood. "Why am I in so much pain... and why are my shoulder blades bleeding...?" Takio asked himself as he stood up and started to walk out of the house.

"Rem?! Are you here?!" Takio yelled as he walked through the house. "Uh... thanks for having me over... I guess..." Takio said with his backpack in hand, then he walked out of the house and down the street. "Well... what am I gonna do now...?" Takio asked himself.

Takio started to hear mechanical feet crushing the road behind a house. He couldn't see anything, but he knew something was there.

"This can't be good..." Takio said as he saw the little lizard that had been chasing him before run out of an alley and down the street. "Wow... that little guy made those sounds...?" Takio asked himself as he saw the head of a robot peek over the house.

"Oh damn! Run away!" Takio yelled as he ran after the lizard. As Takio passed the lizard he picked it up and ran with it (he's faster you see). The robot exploded behind them and blew Takio and the lizard through a second story house window. "Ow... are you ok little guy?" Takio asked as he looked down at the lizard. The lizard looked back then bit Takio on the finger.

"Ow! Damn, you stupid little piece of shit!" Takio yelled as he grabbed the hammer next to him and started trying to hit the lizard. The lizard ducked into a small hole and poked it's head out of another and Takio tried to hit it again, this went on for about an hour. The lizard finally crawled out of it's hole, bit takio on the finger, and ran towards the odd looking city hall. Takio ran after it. "I'll get that stupid thing." Takio thought to himself as he climbed over the fence to the building (the city hall in his world) the lizard ran into.

"Halt right there!" a man yelled from the shadows.

"Did he just say 'halt right there'?" Takio asked himself out loud as he stopped.

"Yes, that's what I said, you aren't allowed here, you'll have to come with me." the man said.

"Ya know, I would, but I'm chasing this stupid little lizard that bit me on the finger. Twice no less." Takio snapped back.

"I said come with me!" the man yelled as he ran at Takio.

"Wow, you have a short fuse huh?!" Takio yelled as he ran into the building and down a hall to meet 5 guards blocking his way. "Aw crap..." Takio thought as the lizard he was chasing stepped out from behind them, crawled onto Takio's hand and bit his finger again, then ran off. "Ow! Damn you!" Takio yelled as the guard that was chasing him shot a tranquilizer into his arm. "Man..." Takio thought as he fell asleep.

The guards carried him into a dark room (interrogation type room) and strapped him into a chair. "Wha... where am I now...?" Takio asked himself out loud.

"Aw, he woke up, and he was so cute while he was asleep too." A person with a voice like Rem's said sweetly.

"Rem?" Takio asked. "*giggle* Yep. Dad teleported me here to look after you. I thought you were to stupid to figure out it was me, guess I was wrong." Rem said as she stepped out of the shadows.

"Uh... I dunno how I remembered your voice... nope... not at all." Takio said blushing.

"Pervert..." Rem said. "Lemme alone. Anyway, where am I?" Takio asked stupidly.

"*sigh* You're still in Digiton (home town),  just in a parallel universe." Rem replied as the little lizard dropped from the ceiling onto Takio's hand and bit him on the finger again, then ran away again.

"Stop that you piece of shit!" Takio yelled at the lizard.

"Wow... Vash usually doesn't do that..." Rem said. "Vash?" Takio asked.

"It's the little lizard. Cute huh?" Rem said as Vash jumped onto Rem's shoulder and snuggled against her cheek.

"What kind of lizard is he...?" Takio asked. "Well... he's not one from our universe, they call these lizards Drakmechs. They transform into robots if they have a pilot." Rem replied as she gave Vash a carrot. He grabbed the carrot in his mouth and jumped onto the table and ate happily.

"Cute my ass. He bit my finger. And not just once or twice, but four times, I think..." Takio snapped.

"And that's how they choose their pilots." Rem said smiling.

"Has anyone ever told you that you smile an awful lot?" Takio said.

"Jerk..." Rem said as she threw a pen at Takio's head(it misses of course). Takio grabbed the pen in the air and threw it through the wall into a room 8 rooms down and landed it in a pencil box.

"Wow... I've done that before..." Takio said slightly surprised.

"That's probably why Vash chose you, your reflexes and speed, not to mention your strength." Rem said.

"So... do you like strong men?" Takio asked pervertedly.

"Strong MEN, not strong children." Rem replied. "Yes! ... Hey wait... that was an awful thing to say..." Takio said disappointed.

Outside, the robot that was chasing Vash and Takio was shooting down building after building. "*Alarm sound* All pilots please report to launch bay! *alarm sound*" a mechanized voice bellowed over the PA system.

"Oh no... Takio... I gotta go, you stay here." Rem insisted as she ran out of the room.

"Crap... alone... again... well... not entirely." Takio thought as he looked at Vash who was still chewing on the carrot.

An explosion knocked Takio and the chair he was in over, along with Vash and the table he was on. "Ow..." Takio said as he broke out o the chair and looked at where Vash was. And there he was... just sitting there continuing to feast on the carrot. "Vash... shouldn't we find out what happened?" Takio asked as Vash looked at him and used his head to motion Takio to follow him.
While Takio followed Vash the voice came over the PA system again, "Evacuate! Evacuate! Drakmech launching system has been destroyed! No injuries!"

Takio just continued to follow Vash outside to meet the giant robot from before. "Vash! What the hell are you thinking?!" Takio yelled in confusion as Vash started to glow brighter and brighter. The giant robot started to back away.

"The legendary Drakmech... I'm about to be destroyed by Vasharo!" the pilot of the robot yelled as Vash transformed into a giant robot (much like the one that the guy in Dual uses, except with a golden backpack-like item on it's back) and placed his hand down next to Takio.

"Fine... just to save Rem." Takio said to himself as he climbed into Vasharo's (Vash in mech form) hand and into the cockpit. "Looks simple enough. Alright, battle start!" Takio yelled as he placed his hands on the two balls on his right and left side (used as joysticks for movement) and ran up to the robot.

"Die!" Takio yelled as Vasharo slashed the arms off of the other robot. "Now! Let's finish this!" Takio yelled as a sword appeared in Vasharo's hands and stabbed through the cockpit of the other robot. As it exploded Vash transformed to normal and appeared on Takio's shoulder.

"Wow... that was so cool..." Takio said.
