BEGINNING
The series begins with images of the solar system and Prof. Matthew Denton sending out a communication to any life form. "We Earthlings wish to make contact with you!" he says. "Please respond." Not long after, a strange ship picks up the communication. The beings inside are.... prepared to invade! "Ensure our future resources," they say.
On Earth, Joey Jones works at his part time job and catches a commercial of the robot Heybo. Only $349.99 (expensive)! Joey is reminded that he's going to be late for school and races off. On his way, he sees Lina who wants him to go to a cheerleading dance with her, but he says that she should find someone better than him. Just as he says that, Will calls out to him demanding that he stay away from Lina (his sister). Will lifts Joey up by the collar and calls him useless. Luckily, Psy arrives, causing Will and his entourage to release Joey and leave.
After school, Joey brings Prof. Denton some parts. He finds the Prof in very good spirits. "I contacted intelligent extraterrestrial life forms!" He proclaims excited. By using his microwave transmitter, he finally did it! Joey is amused but must leave for his part time job.
Outside Psy is waiting. While walking, they see Nick across the street demonstrating his new toy, Heybo. Nick's friends want to try and grasp for the remote. The Heybo is accidentally sent out in the street where it is hit by a car. Nick throws the broken toy in the trash saying that his dad can just buy him a new one. Once the other boys are gone, Joey takes the Heybo from the trash determined to fix it.
That evening and many others, Joey works diligently on the Heybo. And when it was just about complete, Joey names it Heroman. Meanwhile the aliens are getting close. Their spaceship is emitting lightning shock waves. The shock waves cause an unusual change in the weather, and it begins to storm. Realizing he left the window open, Joey races home from work. (See the man drinking coffee in the third image...that is Stan Lee!)
When Joey arrives home, he finds the Heybo had gotten wet. Just as he goes to grab it, a strong bolt of lightning strikes the toy sending Joey flying into the wall. That lightning is like no other! Moments later, Joey attempts to touch the toy only to receive a small shock himself. What was even more shocking, is the remote suddenly transformed into a large gauntlet on Joey's left arm. He pressed the control, which caused the Heybo to grow into a huge robot that seemed alive!
Meanwhile on the wet freeway, Lina and father are involved in a horrible accident. Their car rammed into an overturned oil truck. At Joey's, Heroman seems to sense the accident . Joey presses his gauntlet and to his surprise, Heroman grabs him and heads to the freeway. Joey is frantic when he sees Lina is involved. "Please save Lina," he begs Heroman.
A new signal appears on the gauntlet. "Heroman....GO!" Joey instructs. Heroman removes the roof of the car and pulls the unconscious Lina and her father from the vehicle. Suddenly, oil spills across a loose wire and a huge explosion takes place. The gauntlet wraps a force field orb around Joey saving his life, but he fears the worst for Lina and Heroman. Then out from the flames and smoke strides Heroman holding Lina and her father. "You are my Heroman," Joey says.
Not too far from our atmosphere, a large bug-like form gazes at Planet Earth from his space ship. They are getting closer!
