Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make a Website? 1st--Get a webhost: You may design a site on your PC, but a webhost is
needed to make that site accessible to the World Wide Web. Here are a couple links providing
names of Free Webhosts: Webhosts 4 Free and
Free Website Providers.
2nd--Design your site: If you've
selected a host that has site design tools, that will make things much easier for you. Personally, I wanted
to learn HTML and therefore, wrote all my own pages...it was long, time consuming, but very rewarding.
Here is a great site that can help you if you want to write your own HTML.
Lissa Explains It All 3rd--Getting visitors: Some of the best
ways to get your site known are Join Webrings, Affiliation, Sign Guestbooks, advertise in Forums, and
submit your site to Google (Link to add your site to Google).
Before you advertise your site, make sure you have enough to get return visitors. A one-page site or one that
has very little information will not entice a visitor to return. Good Luck future webmaster!
May I use your written content (summaries, etc.)?
NO. Unless otherwise stated (original author credited right by their work), the written content was done
by me constituting hours, weeks, months, and years of hard work. Truthfully...I'm not fond of writing
so it takes me much longer than most people. If you plan on building a site, you better be prepared to
work. Taking material from other sites should not be an option...not to mention it's copyright infringement.
Why do you protect some of your images?
Because no matter how many times you warn, some websites still direct link,
which is a drain on my bandwidth & wallet. Although, there are ways to get to the images,
I'm hoping that someone who is stupid enough to link directly will not know how to do that.
For those who don't know what direct linking is...it's when another site obtains an image by using my
"URL image properties". This is something that's against every webhosts TERMS OF SERVICE...so don't do it.
May I use some of your images?
Of course! Truth is I'm happy to supply images to people. If you don't have a site, use whatever you'd
like. If you have a site, you may use up to 75 images, but don't forget to credit this site. Also, remember
that the original images belong to their respective creators (those companies & animators who bring us
our awesome anime). The reason I ask for credit is because it's very time consuming to capture and prepare images
for the web (ie: size, image quality, etc.). NOTE: You MUST download them to your PC and
upload them to your own host.
I want to use some images, but can't download them.
Unfortunately, as explained above, some images are not downloadable. However, you can still obtain them
by hitting "ALT" and "PRTSCN", then pasting them inside Microsoft "PAINT". You may need to crop and save
them to your harddrive, but you've still obtained them. There are other ways that only web savvy individuals
will know, but I won't explain that here.
Can we Affiliate?
I've restricted my affiliations to four that display on my mainpage. However, I do add sites to my links
section, which according to my stats is visited frequently. Copycat sites will not be considered. Those
with longevity, creativity, and a great deal of info will happily be added.
Why haven't you posted my Fic and/or Artwork?
Did you follow the rules? I can't tell you how many times I get an email with nothing more than an
attached fic or pic ... no name ... not even a "Hi". Last time I checked, I wasn't psychic, so
those are never posted. Other reasons are that artwork may be too large, fics may be too short, or
attachments sent without stating what it is on the subject line. Virus's are all too common, and I won't
open a suspicious email.
Why haven't you answered my email?
I've probably tried. If you email me, make sure I'm not a blocked recipient. Can't tell you how many
responses are returned with the infamous "Mail Daemon". Last week I sat down and wrote responses to
20 emails...would you believe after all that typing, half were returned. Geez, that's frustrating.
Also, give me some time....some weeks I'm overloaded with homework and unable to answer emails. It's
then that I must make a choice ... update the site or answer emails. Updating the site usually takes
precedence.
Where did you get the Pilot Candidate OVA?
Unbelievable how often I've answered this question. About 3 years ago (when bandwidth was cheap) I was
able to download it. However, it's been long since deleted. If you have a
Streamload account, there may be other streamloaders that can
beam it to you. Just make sure it isn't licensed in your country. K.
