Beast Saga

Alternate Name: Bisuto Saga

The Beast Saga anime took the timeslot of Beyblade Zero G when that ended its run in Japan. Each episode is about 15 minutes. Beast Saga is based on a Japanese multi-media franchise by Takara Tomy that includes a dice game, manga series and an even older anime television series. You may recall Takara's earlier Battle Beasts toyline back in the 1980's. Follow this link for info on that timeline.

Its premise: Somewhere out beyond our own galaxy lies the planet of Beast.  On this planet, animals have undergone a unique evolutionary phase, and they have split into three civilizations: the Land Tribe, the Sea Tribe, and the Sky Tribe. King Liogre (King of Gloria) of the Land Tribe, strives to keep the peace, but Beasts from other tribes are trying to disrupt his Kingdom's tranquility.

In Beast Saga, trained warriors can use the emblems on their chests known as cyclots to fire energy. This is how they battle one another. The most powerful cyclots normally determines the winner. This makes for an amusing show for the youngsters. The animation quality is nice as well. And who can forget the toy line!?! Check out the first image for what is currently on sale in Japan. All and all it's a fun series for the young and the young at heart.
