Dance in the Vampire Bund
One of the most anticipated new shows of the January 2010 line-up, Dance to the Vampire Bund is an anime series based on the manga written and illustrated by Nozomu Tamaki. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the English-language version of the manga, with the 6th volume due to hit stores in February of 2010.
The storyline reminds me a bit of Trinity Blood, where there exists both humans and vampires in the world. Each of the species fear and loath the other. However, the princess-ruler of all vampires, Mina Tepes, is not like the others. She wants to end the isolation of her people, and create a peaceful existence for both humans and vampires. One of her accomplishments was to create, ‘The Bund’, which is a special district for vampires off the coast of Japan.
Unfortunately, there are those from both races that will always fight for supremacy and disrupt any chance for peace. This show will highlight Mina’s quest for peace, and the difficulty in achieving it.
