Fantasista DollsAlternate Name: Fantajisuta Doru In elementary school, Uzume was an award winning card enthusiast. Now that she has entered middle school, Uzume wanted to put that past behind her...that is until someone slips a phone/card dispenser device into her school bag. When Uzume is suddenly attacked, she is coerced into completing an entry process before getting help. Once completed, Uzume is able to call forth a beautiful female sword wielding figure from her gem encrusted dispenser. Uzume learns that the entry process she completed makes her the master to a group of beautiful fighting cards that come to life when summoned. This series translates to bling, bling magical girl anime that packs a punch! My first thought after seeing Uzume and her cards was, "Oh look, it's Cardcaptor Sakura." However, there are definitely major differences between the use of the cards in each series. In Fantasista Dolls, the cards represent humanoid females that protect and care for their master. Each has some unique fighting skill that can be "leveled up" with the use of additional cards. After catching 3 episodes, I can see a predictable plot unfolding. Now...just because I say it's predictable, doesn't mean it's not entertaining. I'm actually enjoying this series more than I thought I would. You can catch the simulcast on Crunchyroll, and since this is licensed by Sentai Filmworks, a DVD release is expected. Official Japanese Site
