Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
In the midst of all the anime series (this year) that are so close to Hentai it isn’t even funny, there are a few real gems. This series is one of them. Even though it is adapted from a shojo manga series by Hiro Fujiwara, it can be enjoyable for all genres. Those that prefer the manga will be happy to learn that Tokyopop carries the English translated versions.
The storyline centers around Misaki Ayuzawa, who attends a school that was once an “All Boys School.” Through hard work and determination, she has become the Class President and is determined to keep the boys in line. However, Misaki has a secret. Her father abandoned the family leaving them with a huge debt and a home that is in great need of repair. To help out, Misaki must work as a maid (in a maid cafe), because the pay is better than most jobs. Luckily the cafe is on the other side of town and her secret will be safe from classmates.
All was fine until.... the day when Takumi Usui happens to be passing by and spots her. He is one of the most handsome and popular boys at school and is constantly rejecting love confessions. Misaki can't stand him, because she considers him a bully....always hurting a girl's feelings. Luckily Takumi keeps her secret, but teases her saying that she is his personal maid. Can he be up to something or has he actually fallen for Misaki? You can look forward to that answer plus a lot more drama/comedy in this wonderful anime!
