KobatoFrom the talents of Clamp comes the anime adaptation of the manga Kobato (Kari). Those who subscribed to New Type Magazine will recall this manga appearing from June 2007 until the magazine ended in February of 2008….(waaaa….I miss it sooo much!!) Pretty Kobato Hanato is on a mission. She must heal the hearts of those suffering from heartache in order to fill a mysterious flask. If she does so, she may go to the special place of her wishes. However, that can be difficult for the naïve and clumsy girl. Luckily she has her sidekick, Ioryogi, to keep her in line, but this stuffed dog-like creature can be overly critical and cruel. What's a girl to do? If you're Kobato, you'll continue to have a positive attitude and try your best. With those attributes, things are bound to turn out fine. Just like many of Clamp's work, you will see cross-over characters from series such as Chobits, Angelic Layer, and even Cardcaptor Sakura. That can be fun especially if they're from a series that you loved. As far as the character designs….they are unmistakably Clamps. Recognizable by the long legs and torsos. However, I noticed that this series has softened the features used in, for example, Code Geass. And unlike the majority of anime, Kobato actually changes her clothes once in a while (^_~). Check out the series for yourself. The heartwarming story is sure to pull you in.
