Koukaku no Regios
ALTERNATE NAME: Chrome Shelled Regios
Layfon Alseif thought he could start fresh and avoid his past once he entered the Academy City of Zuellni. However, an accident, in which he saved the life of another student, caught the eye of Karian Loss, head of the student council. Now his special abilities are about to be brought into the open when he reluctantly agrees to join the Military Art's 17th Platoon.
Almost immediately into the series we learn that the special abilities of Layfon and the others are important for the survival of mankind! Inhabiting the Earth are creatures called Filth Monsters that are determined to wipe out all humans. In order to defend themselves, people must learn to harness the power of their Kei.
This series has "Gunparade March" similarities. Although not entirely the same….the premise is (more or less) students working to develop their skills in an effort to fight creatures determined to destroy all of mankind. We've seen it before, but I never tire of this storyline especially when they throw in some complicated character development. In my opinion, this is one of the better series that premiered Winter of 2009.
