ShigofumiFumika is not your average mail carrier. She and her talking staff companion, Kanaka, deliver letters from the dearly departed. In other words, those that have recently passed write to those that are left behind in the living world. The letters can contain any type of emotion....love, hate, remorse, threats....you name it, but it is up to Fumika to deliver them. The series itself is a collection of captivating story arcs that follow Fumika as she is trying to do her job. Shigofumi began airing in Japan in January of 2008. Not long after, Bandai Visual announced their acquisition of the series. It will be released "subtitled" carrying 2 episodes on each volume for a total of 7 volumes (volume 7 will have 1 episode). The price....$29.99. (Subtitled....2 episodes.....$29.99....Is this company for real????? Someone's got to be pretty damn desperate (or rich) to pay that price. (JMHO) I like to support the industry....(my bulging closets can attest to that)....but not when it's released this way.)
