Tytania
This particular series has Gundam similarities in it's plot: Humanity ventures into space where they reside in planetary cities. The cities are ruled by the Federation until the Tytanian clan takes control and defeats the Federation. Of course, this leads to war and all of it's hardships. Throw in a rebel protagonist and his crew and that spells action. There you have it….that's basically the premise of Tytania.
Tytania the anime is an adaptation of the Japanese novel series written by Yoshiki Tanaka. It is often referred to as a space opera meaning a subgenre of science fiction that emphasizes romantic adventure, set mainly or entirely in space, generally involving conflict between opponents possessing powerful technologies and abilities (reference: Wiki). Even the opening song sounds like Luciano Pavarotti performing.
If your anime preference is science fiction, and you appreciate beautiful character designs and graphics, then Tytania may be right for you. (NOTE: I'm a sucker for beautiful character designs (bishonen :p) so I liked it!!)
