Kaoru is the independent, driven young women that works as assistant master of Kamiya Kasshin Ryu. Founded by her deceased father, the Kamiya Kasshin style of swordsmanship is not meant to murder anyone, but to encourage the potential in them. The sword that revitalizes and protects!
Kaoru first encountered Kenshin when he came to her aid. He helped her defeat an expelled student of years ago who had revenge on his mind. Unfortunately, the situation resulted in tarnishing the Kamiya name and the loss of all of her students. After the incident, Kenshin agreed to stop wandering for a while and stay on at the Kamiya Dojo.
Kaoru can be loud and overbearing, however, her heart is in the right place. Her worst trait is probably her cooking. It tends to upset her that Kenshin is a better cook. She, also, dislikes being alone.
