Kirito fights Vassago and with the help of Eugeo's spirit, they work together to use the power of both swords to log out all red players. Kirito then uses the power of the residual life force to restore Eugeo's sword and transform to his old SAO avatar.

The battle is tough, but Kirito defeats Vassago. To make sure he never returns, Kirito uses his sword to change Vassago to a Demon Tree to be trapped for all eternity.

After all brief reunions, Kirito picks up Asuna to pursue Alice, who is heading towards the World End's Altar. Unfortunately, Miller is chasing her.

Back at the Ocean Turtle, the American soldiers have released the limiters of the UnderWorld server. This means that time will accelerate too quickly. Higa is able to contact Kirito's mind so Kikuoka can warn him to escape with Asuna through the World End's Altar. If they don't make it in time, they will be trapped in the UnderWorld for 200 years.

Alice has reached the altar. She orders her dragons to escape, but they do not listen and confront Miller. Just as he is about to kill them, Kirito and Asuna arrive.
