Izumo and her young sister were children of the sixty-fourth head Priestess, Tamamo, and her lover. Soji, her lover and Inami head priest, wants nothing to do with the children. He tells her that if she keeps pestering him with them, he won't want to see her as well.
At about the same time Izumo is approached by a group of Illuminatis led by Professor Gedoin. The Illuminati want to draw out the power of the nine tails so they can create a World where Demon and Humans live as one. Izumo rejects them, but one of the researchers, Maria Yoshida, gives the young girl her card.
After that the Priestess changed. She neglected her children, duties, and moved in with Soji. Without her dance to subdue the nine tails, it took over her body and began a killing spree.
With the help of the fox gods, Izumo and her young sister, Tsukumo, escape the home. Izumo finds a phone booth and calls Maria for help. Tamamo is captured, and the girls are taken in by the Illuminati.
One day Tsukumo disappears. Maria wants to help Izumo as well, but the girl doesn't trust anyone and tries to escape on her own. Sadly, Maria and Izumo are caught. In front of Izumo, Maria is killed when injected with Professor Gedoin's deadly elixir!
