Yukio is practicing dangerous experiments on himself to determine what is causing his eyes to react the way they are. He knows that fear of death has something to do with it.
Rin, Konekomaru, and Shima go to Ponshon to eat and study for exams.
Elsewhere Suguro has become Lightning's apprentice. Suguro admits to the other Exwires that he is doing it, because he is in awe of Lightning's talent and knowledge....even if he lacks in cleanliness.
Rin and Shiemi are sent as backup to exorcise demons in the Daitokuin Soba building. When the floor collapses while they are taking care of the demons, the two become trapped underground.
Rin's leg has been injured, and he is unable to move. As they are trapped, they talk. Shiemi admits that she likes him, but poor Rin has no idea in what way. Eventually, they get out, but the building is destroyed.
Yukio jumps from a tall building and surprisingly survives.
Mephisto summons Rin and Yukio. He tells them that Shura has disappeared. He wants the boys to go to Aomori to search for her.
