Episode 5: Child of the Cursed Temple

Rin's constant sleeping in class and general lack of enthusiasm is really getting on Suguro's nerves. Because of this, the boys are constantly fighting.

Rin learns from Shima and Konekomaru that Suguro grew up in a cursed temple, and his purpose for attending this school is to become an exorcist and defeat Satan. Rin is surprised to learn that they both share the same ambition.

During one of their exorcist training classes, Suguro becomes really agitated with Rin and challenges him to lay a hand on a frog demon and return without incident. Rin knows the challenge is dangerous, and he cannot draw his sword so he refuses. An angry Suguro still goes for it. When the demon lunges at the boy, Rin jumps in and saves him.

After the incident, the two continue to argue over who's going to defeat Satan!

That evening Amaimon (known as the King of Earth) approaches Mephisto Pheles regarding Satan's son. Mephisto tells him to relay the message that he has taken the boy under his wing, and he is maturing nicely.
