It's a very hot Summer afternoon. Rin and Yukio are in the middle of an argument, when Yukio gets a phone call. Their father's familiar, Kuro, is going crazy after learning of his death. Against Yukio's wishes Rin goes as well.

As a demon himself, Rin can hear Kuro's thoughts. Turns out the small cat-like familiar was crying out in sadness. Rin was able to calm him down in almost the same manner as Shiro did many years ago. In the end, Kuro becomes Rin's familiar.
